Sendo Kasai / Iridium Ripper

*Gulps* well here goes. My first attempt at making a character. Cant wait to see how well this goes over xD

Real World

Name: Sendo Kasai
Other personality: Ukiyo Kasai (Named ironically by one of the staff in the mental hospital Sendo stayed in)

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Appearance: Sendo has dark brown hair that he's too lazy to comb which spans down to his eyebrows in thick curls. His eyes are brown and green (brown around the inside of the eye with green around the outside and silver within the center of the green). He is 6 foot and has a muscular build though he is slightly overweight. He has broad shoulders and long arms that go until his thighs. He is pale because he dislikes going out into the sun on most days. His neural linker is a dark red and black colour.

History: Sendo was born to a pretty normal family in a small town in Japan. His parents weren't actually natives of Japan. They were both from North America, but moved to Japan for work. They had him there and that’s why he doesn’t have a western name. His mother was very protective of him because he was born premature. So when he was born she had him fitted with a neural linker so that they could always keep in contact with him. Growing up his father was an alcoholic and was abusive to him and his mother. When he turned eight, his father got especially drunk one night and pulled a knife on him and his mother. His mother snapped and was able to wrestle the knife away from him. Sendo watched his mother viciously eviscerate his father while laughing. Scared he ran to the neighbours house, who upon seeing the blood on him called the police. To the day, he doesn't even remember any of this having happened. He strangely liked the sight of the blood and violence. But he felt that these thoughts weren't natural and they scared him. So he pushed them to the back of his mind and repressed them. This is the catalyst that began his DID.

After that he was moved from foster home to foster home. He was bullied allot in school because the parents didn’t want there kids near him. He was moved to a small poor village. It was out of the way of most things and it was the sort of place where everyone knew each other. So the children would pick on him and some would even beat him up where what little cameras there were, couldn’t see. At first it was, he could still handle it. But after his first girlfriend left him after having cheated on him and started bullying him too. He quickly snapped and started changing. He quickly became the quite guy with the bruises in the back of the class. He ignored all the whispers, all of the name calling, all of the beatings and the loneliness. He pushed it to the back of his mind and became empty. Pushing all his thoughts and feelings into the depths of his mind. He wasn't totally alone he made a few close friends who were outcasts like himself. He would play games with them online. He was a very smart guy despite being very quiet. All his teachers wanted him to try to socialize and participate more in classes but he would still sit in the back quietly. He started working out and trying to get stronger without going to a gym. He wanted to be strong enough to be able to protect himself from the bullies and his friends so he wouldn't have to lose them like he did his parents. He continued to push these thoughts and feelings of hatred and his want to cause harm to them, to the back of his mind. Causing his other personality to begin to get more violent and despise people more. Every now and then when he was being hit or insulted. He would feel a rush of anger well up and he would feel funny. Then he would either throw very damaging insults back or defend himself. Either act would surely only make things worse for himself afterwards but it never stopped him from doing it.

After a few years he finally started to feel somewhat normal again. He had forgotten about most of the bullying that happened to him as well as his own parents. He even had met the girl of his dreams and fell in love at the early age of sixteen. His life had finally started looking up. He was starting to be able to handle things again. One night when they were at her house cable linking. She mentioned to him a game she wanted him to play with her. Saying it would change his entire reality she sent him the program “Brain Burst”. When the installer came up onto the screen he wasn't sure if he wanted his reality to change. It had finally gotten better than what it used to be. He promised her that he would consider it but he couldn't make a choice yet. So he moved the installer to a different part of his neural linker because it seemed that he couldn't close it or else it would reject the program.

Later that night when he was walking home with his girlfriend the two of them were jumped while passing an area with no cameras. All he could remember of that night was blackness and a throbbing pain in the back of his head. When he woke up he was in the woods and three people were dead around him. They were the people that had been bullying him at school. All had there throats ripped off among other wounds. His teeth were sore and he could taste blood in his mouth. His hands were covered in there blood and his own. His body hurt all over and he had cuts all around his chest and arms. He was alone there... But where was there? He couldn't remember anything about what happened besides a pain in the back of his head. Confused and scared he stumbled out of the woods. Stumbling down the road and back into the cameras view it wasn't long before an ambulance was dispatched to him because of his wounds. Taken to the hospital and questioned. It wasn't long before the police were called in. They watched where he came out of the woods at on the cameras and started investigating the area. They found the bodies and Sendo was subject to a psycho evaluation.

He was found to have Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and transferred to a mental hospital in Tokyo for proper treatment for his condition. He began to be able to cope with having two personalities. The other was even named Ukiyo by the staff at the hospital. He stopped being as violent as he has started as hiding it to help blend into the world. While Ukiyo was in control and going through some work on his neural linker he found an application that was opened. He could remember hearing the thoughts of Sendo's girlfriend the night he was finally able to take over. He grinned and thought “well, I guess its time to change this crappy reality~ Here we go Sendo”. He clicked install and watched the bar go all the way to the end. “Welcome to the Accelerated world” danced in front of his eyes. He frowned when after a few more minutes nothing else happened except for a new icon being added to his linker. He shrugged his shoulders grumbling to himself “So much for changing reality” and went to sleep.

When he went to sleep that night Ukiyo had a nightmare of when he was created. He was being held, beaten to death and insulted with every hit. The laughter of the ones doing this to him filled him with rage. He wished for nothing more than to break free and make them suffer for this. To make them burn for this. He heard a voice coming to him through the pain “Is that your wish?”. He choked out a yes as a few hits connected with his gut. His arms became metal and his hands became clawed. He grinned and tore out of the hold that was on him. He tore his way through his captors and ripped them to pieces. He smiled looking down at his handy work and at the blood covering his claws. He gripped his chest as Sendo retook control and saw what was happening. He saw the blood on his claws and began running away as fast as he could to escape the nightmare around him. As he ran he noticed that he was different. He had slick metal armour on his body. Running past a window he stopped and screamed as he saw himself. He was in slick armour with clawed hands and feet. He had a blue tinted visor covering his eyes and a strange respirator covering his mouth. He gripped the respirator screaming trying to pull it off before he woke up in a cold sweat.


Personality: Ill be splitting this into two parts. One for each of the personalities.
Sendo: Sendo is a quiet person by nature. He doesn't go out of the way to speak to people but he doesn't go looking for people to speak to. This could be caused by the years of bullying he had endured since the incident with his parents. He is also a very paranoid person who goes over situations hundreds of times in his head from fear of not being prepared for them. He has anxiety issues and can always be seen bouncing his legs/feet, his hands or even pencils .ect in his hands to keep himself distracted. He finds it very hard to be able to trust people because of his first relationship he had and how it ended. Thus making him a very hard person to get close to because of his untrusting nature. He is a very smart person who is good at being creative in whatever he is doing. He is best at writing stories and drawing though he would never admit to being good at either of those things (or anything else for that matter because of low confidence issues). In school he was always one of the top students in his classes. Though this never stopped him from being down on himself because of the people around him. When he finally finds someone he gets close to however. He will protect them to the end without any regard for his own well being (most likely because his low levels of self worth)

Uikyo: Uikyo can be considered the opposite of Sendo in allot of ways. He is confident, sadistic and manipulative. He is as smart as Sendo but applies this intelligence as much as possible. He almost always knows exactly what to say to someone to get them on his side and achieve his goals. He doesn't have any empathy for others, no feelings of remorse or guilt. This is because of all the years of bullying Sendo had endured and all the emotions of hate for people he poured onto Uikyo. He can be classified as a psychopath but he lacks the self loving qualities. He harbours no hate toward himself but it is better described that he doesn't care at all about himself. He is good at pretending to have emotions and at being a friend, something that many of the bullies had done to Sendo to better make fun of him. But in reality he is cold and some would say heartless just as he viewed the rest of the world. In the end everything to him is just a means to an end. Even his own life carries little meaning to him as far as he is concerned. That fact doesn't stop him from taking the lives of others when needed though. He wont go out of his way to get into a fight. But if someone else wanted to throw the first punch, he wouldn't have a problem throwing every one after it. He would protect people to further his progression onto there good side but for only that reason. Sometimes however he will protect someone for the sake of causing harm to the person or persons hurting them. This could possibly be because of how he was “created” and how much he likes to cause others to suffer.

Points of Distinction: Ill be splitting this section up same as the personality section
Sendo: After so many years of abuse allot of Sendo's nerves are damaged causing him to be able to take allot of pain. He is very quiet and keeps to himself most of the time. He likes to chew straws. He is almost never seen without something to listen to music with. Sendo is pacifistic and would go as far as being beaten up before he could get the courage to fight back. His chest and arms are covered in old bruise’s and scars from all the physical abuse. Sendo finds it hard
Ukiyo: He acts much more confidently than Sendo does so he will walk tall where as Sendo walks more hunched over. A tell tale sign that Ukiyo is the one in control is the monotone (or psychotic if hes angry) voice that he speaks in.

Avatar workings

Brain Burst Avatar: Iridium Ripper

Appearance: Iridium Ripper is a humanoid avatar that is a little smaller than Sendo himself. Its shoulders are less broad and it stands at about five foot nine. It has average width/length arms and legs. It is thin but built strong and air resistant. It has a blue tinted visor covering the eyes of the avatar. Covering the lower half of the face is a respirator that can be moved down when needed. The hands and feet of the avatar have clawed tips to each. When another personality takes over, the head will spin to the opposite side and a panel that was covering it will drop to reveal the other face.

Explanation: Iridium Ripper was created by Sendo's repression of his scars. This can be seen on him physically from his anxiety his want to constantly be in motion. The armour itself was created by his brains ability to repress everything traumatic or detrimental to him. The second face was created by his DID disorder and his other personalities will to be evolved in what was going on.

For the face swapping – Before the start of each fight when an admin is approving the battle. They can roll a virtual die and if the number is even then Sendo fights and if it is odd Uikyo fights. When health drops to 50% they can switch places and the other can fight.

-Name:(need help with naming)

-Cost: 60%

-Description: Panels slide aside on his back and rockets protrude slightly. They push him forward at high speeds. He then moves in a circle creating a tornado in the center around an enemy.

-Effect: Causes the enemy to be trapped in a powerful cyclone of air and possibly to be thrown around inside of it (depending on the overall weight of the avatar). This will obstruct there view of anything outside of the cyclone.

-Weakness: Heavier avatars aren't effected by this at all because they are too large to be picked up.

uh... well I may not be a part of the A Team (Approval Team) but there's a few things that are just a little unrealistic given the setting.

In accel world such carnage as you describe it, is not seen on screen nor is it really suggested in the light novels due to the fact that a wide network of social and security cameras covering most of Japan especially in the big city areas like Tokyo exists. Areas that are not covered are noted and people usually connected to the global network are warned they are heading into dangerous areas and to avoid them and if such trouble pops up. I'm pretty sure simply telling your mind to broadcast a call for help will trigger a chain reaction summoning police within a few minutes. I would believe it's a system designed to reduce such crimes.

The whole second act of your story (the one where you find your dream girl but then an incident happens causing him to snap) along with your split personality is not really that necessary all it does is compound your character. I mean you can have your first act but you can use it in a different way. You can have the memories of your mother snapping and brutally murdering your father and maybe that combined with the bullying will give you evil thoughts of hurting those who hurt you or your friends but you're afraid of those thoughts because of what those type did to your mother and you know what happened to her. You want to overcome those thoughts but you are afraid to do so. (hence your purple color mix)

Aside from what Diamond said, Flames Talon doesn't fit the name Ripper. Ripper is now used to refer to a killer while Talon is a part of a bird

Alright, went through and changed the EA. The name hopefully makes more sense now. Edited the history a bit so that now it hopefully makes more sense, is less graphic and seems more realistic.
From your guys points were those the only things that needed changing or is there anything else I need to look at?

I don't see anything mentioned before changed and you change the color of your DA. This doesn't affect the "Ripper" theme of your DA. Instead, you make it into a Red DA, which usually favors ranged combats

[Destination]

I read through your history, character, and avatar, and have a few things to say;

First, as I pointed out on Chimp Norris' sheet, your Parent has to be another kid like you, not an adult. It would be treading the age limits if you were to revise the Parent's age to 20, so instead I suggest finding another way to give him the program; maybe his girlfriend, who was hiding from him the program? In this universe, it would not be strange at all for couples to Direct Connect, so do consider that.

Second, Ukiyo seems a little 'slapped on,' in the sense that I don't understand his drive to kill and maim. If his birth was on the night of Sendo seeing his parents murder each other, then his motivations and reasons for acting the way he does must stem from there. As Sendo represses his trauma more and more, dumping on Ukiyo his feelings towards his parents, as I understand DID Ukiyo would be significantly affected. How and what it turns out to be needs to be shown clearly.

Third, creating an EA by your other's will...this one seems slightly far-fetched. While it is true that the wishes of the two will interact with each other, it cannot be an excuse to give your avatar both specialised body parts (clawed hands and feet) and an EA together. I kinda suggest only having clawed hands and feet, for the following reason...

...when it comes to DID characters, there's only Wolfram Cerberus to go on. The only switching of personalities that was voluntary was when the first personality lost the will to fight, letting the second one out, and in doing so Cerberus' second head activated. For having DID, I'm inclined to let you have two heads, one active at a time, but as to how to switch between the two without making regular asspulls is something else.

These are the major things I can point out, so address them first before I move on to the minor ones.

Alright. I changed who gave him BB to his girlfriend as suggested. I also added on to and changed parts of the history. Adding a kind of narration to the bottom to help explain what was going on inside of his head that even he didnt know about. I added the 2 faces to the DA workings and removed the EA and I have yet to think up an ability but ill work on it.
