Game Logs
Hello. Here I'll be posting the logs from the PnP experiments, at least the ones I think are funnier/of signifiance.
System Test #1
Copper Spear (Miale) VS Gulf Assailant
Stage: Demonic City
Battle started out pretty well for Copper Spear: he enters a building, goes up to a terrace and spots his opponent without being seen and hides with the intention to put the pointy end of his weapon right through Assailant's heart. Assailant steps right in, and tries to wait until the Guide Cursor vanishes to know if Spear is nearby.
Emphasis on tries.
Fortunately for the guy, Spear forgot to bring his night vision goggles to ths fight, and couldn't make up for his poor luck and gets some damage in. Spear tries to counter attack with a blow to the head with his spear's shaft, but Assailant is high on adrenaline from the previous assault and manages to avoid, and again slices some armor with his knife. Then Spear decides to go for a leg sweep, which gets Assailant off balance for a few seconds.
Spear is smart enough to realize that making a run for the stairs and holding his position will let him completely lay waste to his opponent before he can get into range, but that won't do it for him. He's ambitious. Each battle is meant to be special, and for him it's sink or swim, so he literally focuses all the willpower he has into attempting to end this battle in the only way a man can: with a furious flurry of thrusts of his weapon.
It happens that inspiration hits him at the right time, not quite reaching a state of absolute enlightenment but managing to understand his weapon and the motions required to perform this move well enough to damage Assailant quite a bit. Assailant tries to retaliate with his own special move.
And then Copper Spear uses his own close ranged ability, pretty neat for macho contests like these. Before he can end his own motion, Assailant sees how is knife along with his arm is flung away hopelessly.
Assailant pleads for mercy, stating that he will lose all his points. Copper Spear stops his attack, and Assailant thus makes his last attempt on him: trying to gouge out his eyes with his fingers. However, if it's already something hard to do in broad daylight, imagine trying to do it in the dark, tired and missing a limb. His fingers break, but he doesn't quite have time to feel pain from it as a pissed off Copper Spear pierces his head, making the last thing he felt a huge thick cold rod shattering his cranial bones, from his palate bones to his cervical vertebrae.
The fight went pretty smoothly and if it hadn't been for connection issues would have probably been 100% better, and most of the problems were due to my relative incompetence as a GM.
Gulf Assailant is a pretty simple character, but seeing how it all went well I feel encouraged to try next bumping up the powerlevels a bit up to the same tier as PCs.
All in all it was a pretty good experience, which served to detect and try to balance out a few issues. Hopefully there will be a next time.

Re: Game Logs
Green Guardian
Session 1
Today Green Guardian and his party encountered a T-Rex pretty damn close to where they started from. The plan was simple: Green Guardian draws aggro while the other 3 attack. The moment the T-rex tries to bite down, Guardian braces himself for the bite and thanks to him being a badass and having specialized in defense, manages to survive its first attack without a scratch, with Asura and Lancer attacking while the T-rex tries to futilely chomp down Guardian.
Bahia Cartoon tries to go for a lucky shot, yet he misses and instead it startles the beast, making it let go of Guardian and tossing him into the ground.
Next turn, while the other two are distracted by the T-rex's giant teeth and now free mouth, it attacks Guardian with its tail. While he endures the attacks, he is buried so deep in the soil that now the T-rex can freely chomp him the following seconds afterwards.
Then his henchmen act. Bahia Cartoon bravely attacks with another rocket and draws its attention, while Asura and Lancer pull Guardian out of the ground. And then the inevitable happens.
Cartoon appears with half his torso missing. Guardian and everyone else were waiting for him to vanish, yet instead he somehow managed to raise his index finger, telling them to wait, and then he regenerated his entire body thanks to his ability, <<Slapstick>>, but there wouldn't be a second time that'd happen for a good while, so they all agree it'd be a good idea to get out of a territory that's familiar to the monster and head somewhere where they can move around better.
And thus begins the unglorious retreat while it's chomping down the meat that used to belong to Cartoon. Lancer and Asura are fast and unimpeded, while Cartoon and Guardian are in the rear. However, as the beast draws closer, they decide to repeat the same tactic. Green Guardian braces himself, with one hand gripping firmly his family jewels and tries to tank.
Only that the T-rex no longer bothers trying to bite him, and sends him flying with his tail to dispose of him later on. Just as he's eyeing the rest as its next meal, Cartoon goes man mode again, even if his Health Gauge isn't still completely filled, and tries to divert its attention regardless of consequences.
Green Guardian grabs a tree branch from the various ones he's shattered in his flight without engine and hands it to Lancer, in hopes that he'll succesfully hit the T-rex's eye throwing it.
By sheer luck, the tree branch lodges itself into the beast's eye, causing it to lose track of Cartoon who manages to slip by.
Also it gets pissed off big deal, and after throwing them around with its tail, it goes to eat them.
And then they /run/ like hell.
Unfortunately, Guardian isn't exactly the fastest runner, and soon catches up. Yet again, Bahia Cartoon has his back covered in the most suicidal way possible.
He puts the rocket launcher in its mouth and *fires*
The results are hilarious. The T-rex has its face disfigured, and while Guardian is more or less fine because he is a tank, Cartoon has impaled himself on a branch and lost an arm. In an attempt to speed things up, Guardian has no better idea than to try to get him out sideways without remembering that Cartoon still feels the pain of whatever he's going through.
That's right. If you put Guardian and Cartoon together, the only thing that can probably kill both of them at the same time can also kill off every thing in a 1 km radius, so at that point everything is irrelevant.
They somehow make it alive at the other side of the forest, and before they make it into the city they notice a red colour Avatar, who gets (reasonably) pissed off at the fact they drew a Large beast to his location. Instead of running however he braces himself and transforms his right arm into a massive railgun, and *fires* after telling Guardian & co to get down.
With a good reason.
Half the T-rex's upper body is no more when they stand up, at the cost of the red avatar blowing all his KG for the sake of that shot. Thus, the rest attack it to make sure it stays down. Green Guardian trips him down by standing in its path, and then they all attack till Guardian finishes off in the most metal way ever: crushing its reptilian skull with his fucking shield.
When all is said and done, the red Burst Linker introduces himself as Guardsman Railgun and demands the rare drop if there was one in a rude manner, and by rude I mean he did not differentiate between Xbox Live and real life. After seeing there was none, he left off praising their ability to survive with his own homies.
When he's away, Asura takes out the Card he managed to sneak take using one of his four arms while nobody was looking at him. They look at its effect, and after deciding that no one wants to perpetually feel hungry while wielding a sword, Asura, Lancer and Cartoon decide who's gonna wield it by playing rock paper scissors. Asura loses and equips the sword, which looks totally badass but makes him feel like eating his meat /really/ rare in trade.
With that out of the way for good, it's time for a scary story of a dude with a sword who apparently has teleporation skills. Soon, the one dude becomes three, another with an OHKO skill and other that is so fast he melee'd two guys at the same time.
Incidentially, all this happened in the place where the closest Leave Point is, so they might as well go check it sooner unless they wanna be ganked when they return later. They decide to take a more discreet path, thinking that if they are PKs and other Linkers are nearby, they might breach the Non-Aggression Treaty under the excuse of 'hey we thought you were the PKs'.
Their prediction is right. As soon as they leave the forest, they feel a strong killing intent. While they decide what to do, they are already under attack.
First of all, a flare hits them in the face so they can't see jack shit, and when they can't dodge the missiles come in and land a full direct hit.
And then the session ends here because it's time for us to do other stuff.
This was a pretty damn funny session, and a good example of what IMO makes Accel World so great. It's the only setting where you can have machine guns and missiles sit next to shields, melee weapons and giant monsters at the same time, and add up numbers to the point where if you haven't specialized your character to the point where he can tank a T-rex then you, sir, are doing it wrong.
The party as of now:
-Green Guardian - A Green coloured badass. He has one hell of a defense, to the point where as long as he can activate his ability not even a motherfucking T-rex could chow him off. He's a MAN.
-Whisky Asura - Limey. Nothing special about him except that he has 4 arms and is pretty damn smart when he wants to. Now he's got a badass sword made from a T-rex's bone. Downside is that whenever he uses it afterwards he winds up wanting to eat a entire horse for dinner.
-Danube Lancer - Has an eletrical Lance that lets him shock his enemies while sticking the pointy end into them. He's kind of wise and knows what he's doing (or at least he thinks so)
-Bahia Cartoon - "Oh god, Bahia Cartoon got bisected/exploded/beheaded/impaled/melted/torn in half again!"
Lacking any sort of combat skills and his only weaponry being a rocket launcher with a 1 turn worth of cooldown, at a first glance he looks like your ordinary limey ready to die. However, what Green Guardian didn't suspect is that Cartoon-kun gets his name from his ability to shrug off potentially deadly injuries thanks to his <<Slapstick>> ability, and regenerate his health given enough if a rest. He still feels the pain though.

Might I also add that Bahia Cartoon obtained his Rocket Launcher by buying it from a Shop
Anyway, here are the raw logs if you're interested to see them:

Part three coming soon...after my final big exercise this week, and clubbing with my friends (for my first time, I'll admit), I'll see if I'm still alive for part 3
