History:

Japanese society says that for the sake of everyone's happiness and peace of mind, each person must endure all personal hardship and not make a big fuss over it. In other words, pretend nothing has happened, even if it's your own family members. It's a social barrier that pervades friendships and other working relations, forcing yourself to hold down your troubles and keep them from spilling out - the chief reason why counsellors are nearly out of a job.

Gunsou Kihara knows this very well.

When he was six, his father left the house one day and never came back, he was repeatedly told by his mother that he was merely going for a business trip, despite dozens of signs to the contrary.

Weeks after the older Kihara left, Gunsou finally gave up all hope, and accepted that his father would never come back. He walked into what used to be his parents' room, with a plural form, and packed his father's clothes and working suit, along with one of the two family photographs that was still framed and displayed. He kept the suitcase under his bed, a lingering reminder and representation of memories of his father - and what he was told to do.

The next day, when he was lounging at the park, and saw a little kid get picked on by bullies. The kid went home crying, but he was all smiles when he returned later.

Even little kids are told to do the same as me. No one will help them solve the problem.

A few months later at school, when the classmate sitting next to him was having money troubles, owing some delinquents cash, he was given a very public threatening in class. No one dared to help him, even Gunsou himself who hesitated.

This kind of behaviour complements the growth of hurt and injustice to others, if they can't depend on others to help.

He finally snapped a few weeks before his end-of-year exams in elementary school. The delinquents, being from the middle school batch of Seigetsu Middle School, were a full head taller than Gunsou, but he had his irritation to match them. All it took was for him to stand up from his seat to turn every eye upon him.

Stuck. Unsure. What to do after this...?

"...because you are an idiot and a fool, and we will punish you for that as your senior!"WHAM.

The leader's fist struck Gunsou's jaw, sending him into the desk. Stunned and bewildered, Gunsou struggled to remain upright. The hears in his head gnashed furiously and jarred; he brought forward his own fist to respond in kind.

"ALL OF YOU, STOP IT NOW."

Like an absolute command, Gunsou and the delinquent dropped their hands at the side; the latter's punch had been caught by the Social Security Camera network and alerted a teacher.

"BOTH OF YOU HAVE COMMITTED A VERY SERIOUS OFFENSE OF HURTING YOUR FELLOW SEIGETSU SCHOOLMATE. APOLOGISE."

...what good does this do?

Miyamoto-san is still going to owe them money, and will still get beaten up by them.

"APOLOGISE THIS INSTANT."

"...sorry, upperclassman." "...sorry, underclassman."

The two bowed and shook hands awkwardly. For the time being, all was well again in Gunsou's class...

...save for a burning anger in his heart.

I will just have to be strong and endure everything on my own then.

Perhaps more of a silent protest than anything else, he joined an external judo club, working hard to rise through the ranks and attaining a decent ability to use the techniques learnt.

A year later, he recieved Brain Burst from a girl in his class. On the pretext of installing a training application for the purposes of his schoolwork, she brought him into the dark world of Brain Burst, and he faced his past that night.

Endure on my own.

Personality:

On the outside, Gunsou is polite and helpful, able to accommodate the requests of most others. As it is, he works hard in class and scores well, ranking among the upper 10%.

At home, he studies diligently, practices his judo via FullDive, and works furiously to keep his house clean - often leading to his mother's jokes that she has nothing to do. In some ways, he adopts to the core a yamato-damashii spirit of persistence and hard work ethics.

Always serious, never relaxed in front of others save for his close friends, it is unsurprising that Gunsou comes across as a soft power.

Explanation: The unarmed duel avatar named Turquoise Protector exists for only a single purpose: to defend himself. Thus, the word 'protector' doesn't refer to someone who protects others; rather, it is someone who guards himself.

The blue-green colour of turquoise leans slightly closer to green than to blue.

It represents Gunsou's feelings of feeling unhelped, and his wish to be completely independent.

Cost: 0 (Normal Activation Passive Skill)
Description:- 鋼素装甲 (Steel Armour)
Upon performing a defensive action, such as parrying, covering his head, et cetera, Protector's wrist, elbow joints, deltoids, and shoulder blades may deploy a metallic layer of armour to cover the outer surface of that body part; the back of his hands and five fingers, outer forearm, outer upper arm, and upper back. After one section blocks a blow, the layer for that section retracts. Redeployment of multiple sections is possible.
Effect: AMR is multiplied by a factor of 1.5 for the duration of the deployment. After a layer retracts, another defensive action must be taken to redeploy the plate.
Weakness: Cannot block continuous attacks, does not cover the avatar completely.

Name: Counter Stop

Cost: 5% KG per post (Limited Activation Passive Skill)
Description - 両手防御 (Twin Hand Guard)
Turquoise Protector brings up both his arms in front of his face, either crossed or parallel doesn't matter. Metallic guards deploy from the forearms, and his calves drop anchors, both remain there for as long as the position is maintained.
Effect: AMR multiplied by a factor of 1.7 for the duration of the move. His position is fixed thanks to the anchors.
Weakness: Only upper body is guarded, retracting of anchors takes around 3 seconds to fully disengage.

Name: Nyoraishinsou

Cost: 40% (Active Skill)
Description - 如来神掌 (Buddha's Palm)
A powerful palm strike with the base of a flat palm. Turquoise Protector drops anchors for an instant and his palm glows cyan as he strikes, allowing him to blast his opponent back with the punch.
Effect: A palmstrike with either his left or right hand.
Weakness: Limited range, immobility of the body during the move.
