Three person have gathered on a building. Those three are <<Burst Linkers>>, players of the 3D VR fighting game known as <<Brain Burst>>. They had gathered once more for one of their plan, by using a battle royale they would announce their return and hopefully put the community of linkers into action.

Smiling to each other they direct connect with each other and shout the holy words to enter the accelerated world.

The world turns blue around them. Opening the matching list, they select a number of names and...

The world turn blue, sign of acceleration. Flaming letters appear before you like a message from another world.

Those who accepted the challenge are turned into their duel avatars, the world around them turns to a metallic environment. The <<Steel Stage>> manifests around.

Copper Spear:
Appearing on the battlefield, he takes cover under the stairs he appeared near. Being a veteran he prefers avoiding to be an easy target for Ranged opponents.

Resolution Fist:
As the fist fighter appears on the field he looks around, spotting an old opponent, <<Damson Incinerator>>, he runs toward him with the intention of possibly allying to take out some harder enemies.

Pearl Slasher:
Appearing near a small alley, Slasher quickly goes to the west, hoping to get a better field to fight out melee avatars.

Bliss, Valkyria and Sorceress.
-It is time. Sorceress, please sends a majestic column in the air to signal other players of our presence. Valkyria, Watch over the trap door. I'll Think up my speech.
Placing each other on their assigned spot on the roof of the building, Bliss equips her dual guns, the <<Twin Varistas >> given to her by one of her most loyal friend. On her side, Valkyria equips her lance, the << Scarlet Justice >> her initial armament. Finally, Sorceress, using her passive ability sends a stream of energy balls in the air to create a rainbow colored pillar to signal their location to others.

OOC: It starts a bit slow, but as it goes I think the post should get more intense. Please have fun everyone! I don't care that there is no trapdoor on the Pic. For the sake of saying where it is, it's between the red marks.

Arashi was in his lab when he received the Battle Royale invite. He nearly rejected it because he had low burst points and didn't feel like playing another Battle Royale against people like that Sephiroth but for some strange reason. His conversion with his parent the previous day echoed in his mind. There was a mystery about the past of the accelerated world and if this Battle Royale had some info, he better log in. He hit accept

Arashi accelerated into Lightning Gadget and he landed near a large building. It wasn't the roof of the school that he was used to when he was in his lab.

"huh?" Gadget muttered as he looked around and then saw the station for the Toei Oedo subway line "looks like I've been moved to Central Tokyo near Tocho-mae Station. I wonder why here."

A flare of rainbow colors and noise caught Gadget's attention. It was coming from behind the big building he was near. A surge on his compass said that the main enemy was in that direction.

Gadget hummed "looks like someone already starting better keep my sensors peeled for any attacks." He looked around then noted an alleyway and made his way into it. His feet making a lot of noise on the metallic ground.

"Looks like stealth is out of the question but this is steel. It's hard but highly conductive. If I was to use my taser attack on this. The electricity would arc to anyone nearby me. I could easily damage someone from a distance. Even if they are high above me or even below me."

Nare had been walking home after a long day. He was just turning the corner that housed his Apartment complex when the whole world turned blue. The options came to him. His eyes went over the words Battle Royal and he knew it was those three instantly. A smile crept on his lips as he hit ACCEPT.

His body was instantly transformed into his DA's robed flame weaver Damson Incinerator. His Flame Waker appeared in his hand. He looked around, and then down the street he saw his first opponent of the Accelerated World fast approaching. Damson wasn't too sure about him, but he wasn't coming over as if to attack which was fine with him.

Suddenly a pillar of light erupted from just a few blocks away. He figured that would be the best place to go, so he headed in that direction. That which was exactly towards Resolution Fist. Deciding to be semi-friendly and not Black the person he waved at him.

"Yo. It's been a while. " Was all he said. It sounded as if he didn't care, but with jst a bit of excitement as well.

The world turned blue, everything is slowed down as if time has stopped. Flaming letters appear before him. A notification about an invitation to a Battle Royale. Without a shred of hesitation, he pressed [ACCEPT]. His body is enveloped with lights and it changes into a metallic humanoid body clad in a jet black robe. This is his Duel Avatar, Jonquil Shadow

This time, the stage is the new [World of Steel]. It was not the real name of this stage, but he prefer to nickname it this, since [Steel Stage] is just 'too normal' and 'too plain' for a fighting game like Brain Burst. Everything is made of steel, even the walls and the ground.

Shadow is near a 3 way junction when suddenly a magnificent pillar of light appears nearby. Intrigued by it, Shadow decides to check the area by going to the top of the highest building near him, not bothering to check the list of this battle royale's participant. He really doesn't know it was Strawberry Bliss and her subordinates. The revelation will surely be astonishing

[Eminence Puppeteer]

The car ride home was awkward and quiet, as usual. The rustle of clothes as fingers tapped away at holo-keyboards and the low hum of the car's electric engine were all Mako could hear as he gazes out of the window, cheek resting on his hand.

Mako closes his eyes, an odd software noise assaults his hearing followed by silence. His eyes flick open. Everything was blue, and still.

A holo-window pops up in the boy's vision:

'You have been invited to a battle royal'

His mind catching up to him, Mako realizes this must be the game his senpai ... 'gave' him, the one he was expected to gather points in.

Mako sighs and prods the button with a slender finger.

The world deconstructs as rounded purple armour plates clasp on the the boy's slender body.

The world reconstructs, the avatar's feet hit the floor with a metallic clank. He was out in the open.

With a grunt of sudden realisation the purple avatar sprints across the empty freeway and into an L-shaped alleyway right ahead of him. He knew little of brainburst, other than it was a VR open-world fighting game that could somehow create the illusion of slowing down time in the real world. Either way he did not want to be out in the open.

'So this is Brainburst, huh.' Mako looked around the environment. Everything was a dull silver colour and very hard like steel, or maybe it was steel?

As this was the first time he had entered this world Mako performed his usual online game ritual of scrolling through all the menus.

He was 'Eminence Puppeteer', Level one. His avatar was small, purple and the armour looked kind of like a dress. Grumbling Mako poked a few more buttons.

Inventory > Enhanced Armaments > Purple Pyre

'Hmm, what's this?'



Upon selecting the button blue shining polygons assembled in from of him, forming a shape similar to his avatar's. When completed, the figure was still and limp.

'...uh. Umm... hello?'

Raising a hand to strange figure, Mako suddenly perceived a tingly, itchy, stinging feeling at the end of his avatars fingers. He recoils. The figure leaps forward at him. The avatar quickly raised both hands to shield himself from the figure, but no contact was made.

The figure had moved right back, leaning at an impossible angle. Frozen, Mako looks over the situation. His fingers were still itchy and glowing a pale blue. He looked at the figure, now rigid and leaning backwards- it too had similar blue spots dotted around its body, ten in fact.

The avatar moved a hand, ever so slightly. The figure responded, it to moving ever so slightly.

The avatar moves his hands more. The figure follows.

'Wait a minute- puppet, is that like... kugutsu?'

Moving his fingers more, Mako could control guide the puppet through a wide array of movements.

Mako cracked a grin: 'ehehe, this is pretty awesome.'

The avatar continues to make a variety of gestures and the puppet, now floating around somewhat, follows.

Mako pushes together his thumb and forefinger, wondering of the effect. The puppet spasms and clatters slightly. WHOOOSSHH! Raising its hands the puppet releases a jet of flame against a nearby wall. The avatar falls back in shock, landing on his bottom he stares at the bright orange patch on the wall. He perceives an awful burning smell, like old industrial petroleum engines. Eyes watering slightly, Mako notices a plume of black smoke rise.

'Ahh shoot, someone's gonna notice that'

Sezaru would be just enter the Accelerated World as he immediately receives a Battle Royal Challenge:

Yari yari, this is gonna be fun, Sezaru would think to himself as he cheerfully clicked Accept.

Sezaru would then change into his Duel Avatar: Violet Repulse, and immediately call out for his Enhanced Armament: VG - 07, Repulse would then notice both Jonquil Shadow and Regimental Samurai are in the Battle Royale, thus giving him some type of confidence that he could form an Alliance with them.

Suddenly however, the Cursor started shaking violently as multiple arrows then showed up on it, almost throwing off Repulse, and annoying him slightly.

I guess I'll go team up with Regimental first, then if that goes smoothly, we go get Shadow, and we should be fine for the majority of the Battle Royale, but that's if I only focus on Regimental's Arrow, so I gotta play Smart. Repulse would think to himself as he began to follow his Cursor to meet up with Regimental Samurai by running in the Direction he could be in; hoping that nobody else would get in his way, except for whoever's cursor is shaking violently.

Repulse would immediately start going down South, in the Direction where Pearl Slasher may inevitably be waiting for him to go straight into a Fight.

Now the only thing I have to hope for is that Slasher isn't too Close Ranged of a fighter, cause then I'd need to take cover....and attempt to think two or three steps ahead....since facing Regimental and Shadow gave me good experience on how to fight, they're both veterans, I already learned a lot from two of the potential best Brain Burst Linkers around. Repulse would think to himself as he was running towards Slasher's Direction in the Battle Royale.

Masashige was doing homework when he «Accelerated». Huh?

A «Battle Royal»? Hell yeah! I just hope it doesn't end up like «Sephiroth»... Masashige quickly hits «Accept» and begins to transform.

As the «Battle Royal» began, «Regimental Samurai» equipped his «Regimental Katana» and «Steel Shoulder Guards». Can't be going into this unarmed. He starts walking forward, looking for an opponent. It only takes a couple seconds for one of the «Compass» arrows to disappear. Already? They must've been close. He grips his katana, ready to strike as he turns the corner.

As he turns the corner, he sees another avatar. An off-white (yellowish) avatar with a huge claymore. Instinctively, «Samurai» lashes out before he realized that it was a former member of «Infinity Ægis». He stops his attack just short of his old friend. «Pearl Slasher»?! «Samurai» re-sheathes his katana. How've you been?

Masaru was making a visit to Kumano Shrine when he noticed the world shift into a blue color and a text display popped up informing him he was invited to a battle royale. "Hmm this could be a nice way to gain some burst points quickly," Masaru thought as he moved his finger up and pressed the accept button. He then watched in amazement as the world around him shifted to the steel covered landscape of the «Steel stage» and his own body changed to his duel avatar "Madras Horror."

"Still amazing how life like this game looks," Madras Horror said out loud to himself. Looking around he realized there would be nothing nearby for him to break for the stage destruction bonus which he knew would put him at a severe disadvantage as his duel avatar required to consistently keep his killer move gauge. Figuring that in a fight he wouldn't last long without his ability Madras Horror decided he would just stay here at the shire and hope no one came until the timer ran out at which time he with full health would win.

Contenders:

Copper Spear:
Seeing Lightning Gadget enter a small alley he decides to run after him, his foot steps echoing harder than everyone else's due to his metallic Armor.
- Hey, Gadget! Wait! I got a thing or two to tell you!

Pearl Slasher:
As samurai brought his blade toward Slasher, the pale warrior was ready. Placing his weapon to wall out the attack he blocked and punched, aiming directly for his former "Boss" face. Realizing at the last second who was in front of him, He attempts to redirect his punch to avoid making a direct hit.

-Boss! Left!

Resolution Fist:
-Yea, it's been a while. So you're in here as well, want to ally each other to take out the dangerous one here?
Fist looks in your direction then points the pillar in the sky.
-The people in that direction are bound to be a mess to deal with, if we're alone we might have no chance.
Although you're both opponents in this battle, Fist shows no hostility. He seems to be wide open to be attacked.

Lilac Valkyria:
Placing herself on the watch near the trap door she's ready to stab anyone trying to come up. Unless it would be a certain someone...

Yellow Sorceress:
After a few seconds of shooting, she takes a halt and watches attentively as the red avatar of their group prepares for the speech.

Strawberry Bliss:
Walking to about one meter of the border of the building she yells into the distance. Her voice reaching and echoing trough the Steel Stage.

I gladly thank you all for participating in this Battle Royale! To add a bit more spice to the battle, I will offer the winner an Item I brought recently. I would also like to mention the presence of two other ancient Legion masters among us today, Regimental Samurai and Jonquil Shadow! I know we have been ferocious enemies in the past but I would like to show some good will and tell you that I won't claim any of the territories until more legion appear. Gadget looked behind him and saw a copper colored spear wielder coming after him with a call out. Gadget had been warned by his parent Rose Bloom that the one called Copper Spear was a hostile individual and if you see him coming towards you, use his own speed and power against him and sidestep to dodge his direct attack and if he talking don't argue with him because he's emotionally unstable.

He turned to looked at him with a defensive stance "Copper Spear I presume," Gadget stated "if you got any idea who just made that announcement. I welcome a share of knowledge

Damson nodded.

"Yeah, I think we should. We should head towards that place(referring to the pillar) first. It...looks like things will become interesting over there. "

Damson knew what he would really do. For now, he'd use Fist to get him over there as fast as possible....after that well, only he really knew. What does one do with an object that has served it's single purpose?

Without looking back, he heads up the road, heading towards the road Repulser was on but is no longer. He looks up the road straight, and down the road to the left. He looked back at Fist.

"Which way do you think is faster?"

[Eminence Puppeteer]

Convincing himself the plume of smoke had not given away his position, Mako made his way to the end of the alley ((which was not L-shaped at all, my bad)). The purple avatar poked his head out of the passage. Although he was pretty sure the three red arrows indicated the position of the enemies, he didn't want any nasty surprises.

Satisfied the way was clear he turned left (south) and followed the road around a slight curve untill the three arrows were pointing almost 90 degrees to his right. Sure enough there was an alleyway that cut through the buildings on this block and into the next. Judging by the speed the arrows on the compass turned on the way here the enemies were at a similar distance, likely on the next block or the one after.

Upon hearing a loud shout, small avatar jumped and darted into the alleyway. Taking cover between two buildings he listened to the rest of the monologue, realizing it was not aimed directly at him.

'What the heck is Exercitus Divae? Sounds like some goth-loli style idol band...'

Mako shrugs to himself and continues cautiously down the passage.

Rather than decipher whose left «Slasher» meant, «Samurai» ducked under the fist. Whew. Close one. He sheathes his katana and places his right hand on his friend's left shoulder. You're looking good. Have you seen any of the others in the last couple months?

Dammit! She's back and already has her «Legion» reformed?! But it appears that «Shadow» is here, too. We'll have to get re-acquainted later, «Slasher». Right now, we have to stop whatever «Bliss» has planned. He nods toward the direction «Slasher» came from. There seems to be an avatar that direction. Let's get as many together as we can. «Divae» is probably full of at least Level Three Avatars.

Madras Horror heard the announcement given out by Bliss and sighed not like any of it pertained to him so what did it matter. Figuring the echoing sound of walking would alert anyone nearby of his presence Madras Horror decided to sit down. Knowing that the same echo would alert him of anyone coming his way he knew he was safe for the moment. "Well now I wait then," Madras Horror mumbled to himself.

After reaching the top of the highest building around, Shadow was astonished. He sees a pink DA standing there, along with 2 familiar DAs. They're Strawberry Bliss, Yellow Sorceress, Lilac Valkyria. All veterans either gone or come back as level 1, his friends who fought alongside him is now gone and there's no way to contact them anymore. They're the one who makes everything like this.

And then, Bliss makes an 'announcement'

Angered by her 'announcement', he actually wants to shout and swear at her at the top of his lungs. However, he refrained himself from doing that, trying to think clearly instead of being clouded by anger. Unfortunately, even thought he managed to refrain from swearing at them, his anger already makes them his primary target. He 'dives' to the ground and start moving down to the building.

Tch, another Arrow disappeared, guess that means there's two people in my direction..... Repulse would say to himself as he kept running in his initial Direction.

Repulse would have many things rushing inside his head, but all of a sudden he hears an announcement:

Bliss' Return:

Sooo, I guess that means that a Legion has arrived.....that just gives me much more reason to find.....OH CRAP! Repulse would scream the last two words as he almost crashed into Regimental and who looked like to be Pearl Slasher.

Hey Regimental, and hey ummm.....I assume Slasher? Regimental would greet both Regimental and Slasher. Repulse would then ask them about what was just announced.

Did you guys hear the Announcement about Strawberry Bliss? If you guys did.....wanna form an Alliance to get rid of them, it seems like I'm getting a really bad vibe about them. Repulse would ask them both.

Copper Spear:
Approaching Gadget, Copper Spear listens to the question of the yellow avatar.
-That Strawberry Bliss girl, she's an enemy to true burst linkers, someone that has to be taken down. I believe you heard a bit from your parent, pretty sure she's mad at me for trying to protect a world I cherish. I'll ask you: Are you a Burst Linker or a traitor? I can't let that girl get away with what she did before.

As his words are finished, you can see that he has a firm grip on his weapon and is ready to fight out anything coming at him.

Pearl Slasher:
As Repulse came running toward them, Slasher heard the echo of Repulse's footsteps and barely had enough time to place himself as a wall to protect his former leader. Repulse having bumped into him, Slasher lost a few HP and before he could retaliate, Repulse would talk.
-Boss, I don't trust this guy. He could be an ally of Bliss. I suggest getting rid of him before he stabs our backs.
Saying so, the Whitish yellow avatar raises his weapon in Repulse's direction.

Resolution Fist:
-Let's see if we want to reach that pillar, this way would be the best. However, I think we should find out some other people to ally with, but if you think about it others might be going as well.
Without even consulting you more, he takes the path he claims to be the fastest.

Lilac Valkyria:
Jumping down the trap door, she makes sure the path is clear for her two companions to climb down so they can all join the brawl.

Yellow Sorceress: Waiting for Bliss to climb down, she shoots a circle of bullets to hit the surrounding buildings and test how hard it is to break the stage.

Strawberry Bliss: After ending her speech, she climbs down as Valkyria clears the path. When they'll get outside, the real fun will begin.

"All right then. Lead the way."

Damson couldn't think of much else to say to that. He decided to follow Fist, letting him lead them down his fastest path. He could easily just pull a fast hit on him, shooting him in his back and running off, to let a huge chase and fight commence. That would be fun and all, but without knowing how many other people were near here, he couldn't take that risk. He keeps his eyes peeled in case anyone suddenly came up on them.

[Eminence Puppeteer]

The purplish avatar was nearing the end of the alley-way when the enemy indicatiors began to twich. This was followed by a series of loud bangs, gunshots? Either way they were fairly close, and the small avatar was on his own. It was probably best to find allies before engaging. Mako, re-tracing his steps, took a turn behind a building to his right. Following the passage to the end, the avatar had a good view of the crossroads to the south-west.

We waited, keeping his eye-lenses peeled for potential allies... or enemies.

Gadget hummed in thought "I do not know how to define myself by those terms. Many of my opinions about the real side of the brain burst program makes me wonder what exactly you mean by Burst Linker or Traitor however I feel that your anger against this Strawberry Bliss is justified. I mean I would be pissed if what I worked so hard to build was suddenly taken away from me, rejected, or made just to be something that I wasted my time on. So if we can agree to work together on one side with a common purpose, I'm sure we can ignore the differing opinions on the other side

As «Repulse» came running around the corner towards them, «Samurai» heard the echo of his footsteps. Barely noticing that it had happened, «Samurai» was surprised when he realized that «Slasher» had placed himself between him and the newcomer.

«Slasher» lost a bit of HP when they collided and before he could retaliate, Repulse spoke. Hey «Regimental», and hey ummm.....I assume «Slasher»? Did you guys hear the Announcement about «Strawberry Bliss»? If you guys did.....wanna form an Alliance to get rid of them, it seems like I'm getting a really bad vibe about them.

Whoa there, big guy. He's with us. I a had a «Duel» with him just the other day. I invited him to join «Infinity Ægis» once we re-formed. He places a calming hand on his Legionnaire's shoulder (again) to ward him off. We had a good fight. Besides... his range could come in handy once «Bliss» starts her shit again. And «Sorceress», too now that I think about it. «Samurai» looks around, as if looking for someone. And she said that «Jonquil Shadow» was here, too. Knowing him... I think he's in the shadows somewhere, making his way towards «Exceritas Divæ» right now. Shall we go help him out before he gets himself killed?

After moving for a while, Shadow is finally on the building Bliss and her lackey are in. Being outnumbered 3 to 1 is a huge disadvantage for him, so he decide to lay low. As of right now, he's in the wall near the alley, where the shades will hide his silhouette

Madras Horror lazed around near the shrine continuing to wait for the battle to time out. Noticing a small fence he could destroy Madras Horror crawled over to it being careful not to make any noise as he did so. Upon reaching the fence he began carefully destroying it as quietly as possible in order to not attract attention.

Boss, I don't trust this guy. He could be an Ally of Bliss. I suggest getting rid of him before her stabs our backs. Repulse would hear Slasher say to Regimental as he raised his Claymore towards his direction. Repulse would almost instinctively react by guarding up with his GunBlade, as he saw Regimental put his hand on Slasher's Shoulder, almost trying to calm him down.

Whoa there, big guy. He's with us. I had a Duel with him the other day. I invited him to join the Infinity Aegis once we reformed. Repulse would then hear Regimental say, as he thinks inside his own head while Regimental is calming down Slasher, reassuring him that he's on their side. 

As far as I've heard and seen......there will be a few groups, and it may be split into few groups that side with Bliss and groups that go against Bliss.....I'm sticking with Regimental, that's the fact. Repulse would think to himself, as he would then say to both Slasher and Regimental.

Yeah, I did hear Shadow was around here......750 Yen says that Shadow's going after the Top 3 most wanted right now.

Strawberry Bliss: As Valkyria jumps out by the window, she prepares to climbs out, unlike her better armored friend she prefers climbing down safely.
