Personal Event: Rules of Nature
STAGE: Nihonbashi (Chuô Ward) - Demonic City
Time: Night.
Stage Condition: Hardened building structure, green mist.
The moment Masashige's limbs were covered in purple coloured armor, he was no longer the 3rd year middle schooler who practiced kendo, but the Burst Linker renowned by his close to mid range Duel Avatar, 'Regimental Samurai'.
It had been a mere lucky guess. By looking in the Matching List of the most representative Battle Area of his near surroundings, he'd been finally able to track and locate the opponent that had been madly attacking the Burst Linkers of his Ward for no apparent purpose, other than gaining points. Extremely large buildings, such as Hotels, banks, and of course, the Takashimaya department store where Masashige had been waiting for his opponent. If he wanted to go to Akihabara, one of the highly favored neutral hunting grounds for any Linker, he'd have to get past Nihonbashi bridge at some point to cross the river.
And that was how he ended up in this alien city, covered in an undescribable black metallic substance and in perpetual mist, fighting against the blue Duel Avatar, 'Gulf Beast'. Thus far, neither the Health Gauge nor the Special Moves Gauge moved. The enemy was right behind, but given how the Guide Cursor wasn't moving at all, he was still probably at a good distance from the purple colour Avatar.
Soon, it became noticeable how the roofs of the nearby buildings began to crowd with all sorts of Duel Avatars of more colours and shapes than one could imagine. As Regimental Samurai had barely fought at all yet, it could be safely assumed that most of the watchers had at some point fought Gulf Beast; judging by the cheers of some, most of them were his victims, waiting for someone to avenge them.
The timer had been mercilessly ticking for a few seconds without you noticing, but it soon became evident you had to make your move. There was too little you knew yet, but the world of 'Brain Burst' is merciless like that.
In a world of high speed battles, it's do or die. Which of the two will you choose?

Masashige was hoping that he had been waiting at the right place to catch «Gulf Beast» and get him to stop this purposeless “hunt” that he seemed to be on. Luckily, the world began to slow down and turn blue. Yes! Lucky~
Transforming into «Regimental Samurai» wasn’t a new experience for Masashige, but he was still getting used to it. Looking around, he seemed to be in the «Demonic City» Stage. If he remembered correctly, it was near impossible to break the environment, especially at Level 1.
As the timer ticked down without any of the gauges moving, he could only assume that he memory was right. Without wasting any more time, «Samurai» moves through the menu, equipping his «Regimental Katana» and his «Chrome Wakizashi», saving «Fuujin-no-ken» for later if needed. With his right hand resting on the hilt of his katana, «Samurai» carefully makes his way towards his opponent, being sure to keep an eye out for him.

As you walked through the barren jet black city, with an eye on your Guide Cursor and your right hand ready to get a firm grasp of your blade's handle, the Gallery went silent all of a sudden. The everpresent whispers and eventual comments vanished, leaving only nothing but an unprecedented silence. At the same time your Guide Cursor shook ever so slightly, confirming what you already suspected.
The enemy was close. Probably close enough to be spotted if he looked in the right direction... if it were not for the eerie green mist that prevented you from making visual contact.
A slight noise was heard, as the opponent's Special Moves Gauge rose slightly. At the same time, the Guide Cursor began to tilt towards Regimental Samurai's left. A quick look towards the right made evident the presence of large buildings at both sides of the road, with no inmediately viable escape route where you could run away without being noticed by the enemy.
Gulf Beast was probably hidden inside the building of the left, waiting for a chance to make his move. At the time you were thinking of your possibilities...
Something large made an impact against the ground slightly to your right.
Like a step ending in a leap.

Theme Song: Vergil's Theme - UMvCIIIInstinctively, «Samurai» jumped to his left - away from the impact - and gripped his katana more tightly. Trying to get a fix on his opponent, he squints his eyes a bit. I wonder what color "Gulf" is... It's obviously not a red or yellow. That impact was too heavy. Probably not a purple. I've never seen a "heavy" purple. So... blue or green? Tch. Great. That means this is gonna be tough, but at least I'm probably faster... I hope.
Assuming that his opponent has already moved, «Samurai» scans the area around him. He clicks the «Katana» slightly out of the sheathe with a small shink, ready to block and counter.
