North Pole Palace Event [OVER]

Upon touching the portal standing in front of the Amusement park, a light momentarily flashes for a few seconds.

First of the things that you notice is that you are inside the deepest room of a palace. No, actually, there is one last door ahead of you. Unlike in many fantasy games, it's merely a large wooden door, without any sorts of special garments except perhaps two small words above which read, in English of course:

Presents Room

Next thing is that you are no longer using your Social Avatar, but have become encased in the armor of your Duel Avatar, designed for the sake of combat using your deepest wishes and traumas as the foundation for its skillset and creation.

The corridor behind you also leads to another room of the palace, but your instincts tell you that for now, the rest of the building is empty, and it's owner won't be home for a while. There do not seem any kind of traps that will prevent you from getting what you want.

However, then... what is this pressure you feel whenever you get closer?

It's like... a fragment of the past has been sealed there.

Well, here we are. Entrance is free anytime during the event, however, anyone who fails to post within three days will be punished with death.

Any Enhanced Armament obtained across the event can be equipped. However, the only way to keep it is to make it alive till the very end.

KG clause: Minimum KG gain is 0.75% of damage dished out and 1.5% of damage taken, and goes up by 0.2% per rank in KG.

Madras Horror appeared palace and took a moment to look around the room for any enemies or other players to appear. After a quick search revealed there was no one else around he thought "Hmm looks like I'm the first one here, I better hurry then in case this is a competitive event." Madras Horror then began looking for where to go and saw only one door in front of him labeled "Present Room" which he made his way to and slowly entered wary of traps, after all nothing is as suspicious as something announcing itself to be free.

The room has two windows above, with a dim light shining through them. The parts that are not naturally illuminated are kept in sight by well placed torches, allowing you to see the spectacle in all its glory.

Piles and piles of neatly packaged gifts stand in a pedestal. Each of these gifts has been given out with the best wrappings and decorations could make, as if they wanted to outshine others. You estimated that some of these took weeks, probably with months of anticipation to gather the necessary materials.

Even though the room was dark and cold, it felt as if somehow, the spirit of Christmas had been preserved-

No. Something is definitely wrong.

Looking down, you realize...

The pedestal the gifts stand on is carved out of bone, and decorated with thick pelts that could only belong to beasts so powerful they could belong to the Legend class. What stands to you the most... Is what is on the wall in front of you.

A single goat's white skull, with horns so large they could reach the ground with ease.

Madras Horror carefully approached the pedestal wondering what kind of creature it could be made of. "Well since no one else is using these I guess I'll take one..." Madras Horror said to himself trying to convince himself it was the right thing to do. He knew that having a bunch of items laying around like this was simply too good to be true, but if he could get one and it contained a useful item it would be a huge boon in future fights. "Well here goes nothing," Madras Horror thought as he grabbed the nearest present off the pedestal and opened it praying it wouldn't trigger some kind of trap.

The present opens, revealing a small Enhanced Armament Card.

Its name is: 'Gift: Malachite Orb'. A small picture of a single green coloured orb appears below it, informing you of its appearance. Somehow, looking at it... Feels oddly nostalgic. As I've you'd seen it before.

However, right before you can put your feelings in order, even your mind's voice is deafened by the sound for the roof being torn in half by an impact powerful enough to crush a lesser man in the spot, and a shadow descending from above to the other side of the room, right in front of the goat's skull.

-"... To think someone would be as stupid as to steal from me."

The one who had done that was clearly a human. Yet at the same time, he was clearly a monster of a man. A muscled man, with a beard that reached all the way to his waist, and clad in armor of red pelt, fur and bones that made him look like an ancient god of war.

His hand reached out to the skull placed on the wall, and placed it on top of his head. At the same time, one, two, three Health Gauges filled with a *gloop* like sound above his head.

... It was then when you remembered yesterday's lesson.

Santa Claus could not be further nowdays from what the original legends were. Originally, in northern Europe, he was not some kind old man who went around on a sleigh handing out gifts to nice kids and scolding patiently those who were not.

No.

He was the punisher of all sins. According to his legend, he was a monster of punishment that would appear in the dark of the night, demanding gifts to appease his anger. And if they had sinned too greatly, no amount of presents would calm him down, and he and his family would be killed as a dire warning to the rest of mankind.

The Amusement Park stated that through VR, they had made the realest St. Nicholas kids could see. And, ironically, this was the true face of Christmas. The name that appeared above his head was...

The Yule Goat.

The punisher of sins. The terror of December.

At the same time, in Madras Horror's HUD display, a small dot appeared along with the system message: *Status effect: INDICTED* flashed before his eyes.

-"You dared opening what should not be opened. For that, the punishment is...

Death."

Malchite Orb: A strange item, which appears as a single orb that floats around its user. Can be used both to automatically block or attack. Add +30 to AMR or to DIR at the start of one's own turn.

Gadget had logged in about one real second behind Horror and in that period in accelerated time Horror had gone off and done something stupid. He had triggered a trap.

"... To think someone would be as stupid as to steal from me." Gadget heard echo from the next room

Gadget exhaled "Stupid indeed,"

"You dared opening what should not be opened. For that, the punishment is Death."

Gadget sighed "a fitting punishment." He muttered "I really shouldn't go watch but something just making me interested." He walked into the present room to see the opponent and then leaned against the door and crossed his arms "Don't mind me, I'm just here for the christmas show nothing more."

Damson Incinerator materialized into the place, and looked around. He could see what was happening with the guy facing the Boss monster, and was pretty frightened by it. His Flame Waker was in his hand and he went forward into the Present Room.

He looked around, and found a present. It was a box of normal size, with dark Purple and Green wrappings. It had a Maya blue bow on it, warping around the whole box. He ran over behind a pile of Presents and opened the box....

Without sparing a second to glare at Lightning Gadget, the barbarian's voice boomed across the entire room.

-"It is the duty of a man to aid a fellow man who is about to die. Those who cannot understand that... Are sinners."

With a heavy sigh, he holds a hand towards his back and removes the pelts that envelop a large staff, made out of the highest quality wood. No. Saying it's high quality would be an insult. The substance this object is made of cannot be called anything but 'sacred'.

-"So. Do you have any present for me?"

The moment his attention has switched to Gadget, Horror temporarily breathes in relief, thinking he has been saved.

However, the pressure, no, the killing intent of this enemy is not gone. He has merely shifted his attention for a few seconds.

At the same time, you sneakily grabs one of the presents. Upon touching the wrap, the box opens, revealing a small Enhanced Armament card: 'Gift: Gulf Saw'. The instant it's equipped, a small deep blue chainsaw is mounted in your left arm as its electrical engine begins to produce a constant vibration of the blade, which has been shortened so you can use it comfortably.

The moment this happens, the Enemy eyes you with the corner of his eye for a few seconds, before turning back to Gadget.

He knows what you just did. Even if you run away, no, precisely because he's aware there is nowhere you can run to, he momentarily leaves you alone. To him, you are already executed. Wether that happens now or later makes no difference...

As Shadow materialize in the palace, ominous voices echoes throughout corridor. It originates from the room behind him, the room which seems to be 'Present Room'. However, the pedestal, which seems to be made of pelts and bones, doesn't fit with Christmas. What is happening right now inside is also weird in many sense. A humanoid figure with a goat's skull worn as a helmet is inside, with Madras Horror, Lightning Gadget and Damson Incinerator. He doesn't look friendly at all. The word 'sinners' and 'death' are heard many times.

He had already seen how everyone took a box inside and got a free EA and, of course, he was tempted to do the same, even though that 'guy' with goat's skull seems to be angry. He dives down and slipped past everyone and takes a box

Gadget just smirked at the reply he was given. "A present huh..." He hummed "well if you like Burst Points I think I can hand over 25 of them at max but other then that I'm afraid I didn't bring anything special. I just don't have anything worth mentioning." In truth what Gadget was doing was aiding Horror and the other guy that had snuck in to take a present in a sense by drawing attention to himself he was giving the other guys a chance to escape. He had the feeling he could take at least one attack from this boss so that his KG bar could give him enough taser power to attack back. He then noticed Shadow slip in "Oy, Shadow while you're picking up boxes could ya be a pal and throw me one with a blaster, a rifle, or a machine gun inside it."

(what are the stats of this boss anyhow. I'm curious)

You had no problem in sneaking in, as the situation was already choatic by the time he entered the room. The moment your hand touched a random present, a Enhanced Armament saled in card form came out of the box.

Its name was 'Gift: Shadow Gun'. Upon equipping it, something strange appeared in your hand. Unlike the picture, in which it was just a black gun, the moment you wield it becomes completely plain, leaving only the shape behind.

As if it was nothing more than a shadow of a gun.

Without prior warning, the silhouette of the hulking giant disappears-

Only to appear right above you, its wooden staff in his right hand raised high.

You were prepared for the blow, so you try to move to the side to avoid the blow, but the shockwave is already strong enough to send you crashing against the floor.

Shadow Gun: These gun's bullets count the same as having power 30 DIR damage. Chamber: 6 bullets. 1 turn reload after it's emptied. Unlike other items which may hinder his stealth abilities, this weapon emits no noise when firing, just like a shadow to compensate for its rather low firepower.

Damson activated his newly gotten Armament. The blue saw appeared on his arm, which surprised him. DIR+ 30. He swung it a few times to get a good feel of it, and grinned. He summoned his Flame Waker. He would be ready if he had to join in a fight.

Madras Horror had been stunned by the situation for quite a while now with new players coming in at regular intervals and his opponent Yule Goat having shown himself to have incredible attack power and speed. While this was occurring Madras Horror was still trying to figure out the function of his new enhanced armament "Malachite Orb" at first glance it appeared useless but Madras Horror quickly realized that it could be used as both an offensive and defensive item by positioning it in the way of attacks or having it slam into enemies. Knowing this and recognizing the incredible attack power of Yule Goat Madras Horror decided to set the orb up to defend against any incoming attacks.

Having his enhanced armament prepared for combat now Madras Horror moved towards his opponent knowing he would need to build his killer move gauge if he was going to be of any help to the group in this fight. Then Madras Horror heard his opponent speak "Damn. All of a sudden, this amount of work..."

"Really you're going to complain about work, look at this from our perspective," Madras Horror replied.

Gadget quickly pushed himself to his left hand and feet, rotated himself sharply to face the opponent and held up his right hand. "Eat lightning, ya grumpy old goat, Taser"

Taser probes shot out of Gadget's hand and went to snag Yule Goat to deliver a powerful shock to his body.

«Regimental Samurai» logged in and materialized outside the room as «Lightning Gadget» activated his Ability. Oh, look. A familiar face... Why do we keep meeting up? Yo, «Shadow»! What exactly is going on? Noting that the others seemed to be fighting the huge muscle-man, «Samurai» thought it best to equip «Regimental Katana» and «Steel Shoulder Guards».

"Really you're going to complain about work, look at this from our perspective," Madras Horror replied.

-"..."

Silently, the barbarian turns away from Lightning Gadget to face the yellow Duel Avatar fashioned after a ghost armor.

Death.

There is no sophistication in his attacks. For in the time this figure existed, before civilizations rose, only the basic methods of combat were known to man. That is, attack and defense. Thus, in order to compensate for his natural lack of any sort of skills... The only thing he had left was speed and strength.

Even if this attack had been telegraphed, the best Horror could do was move backwards before his spine snapped like a twig from the power of his horizontal blow. However, the blow was so powerful that even with a indirect hit his chest plate was blown instantly into pieces that scattered across the room.

Just as the towering Enemy was eyeing up Horror for the next blow, wires connected to darts were launched from his Gadget's right hand towards his target. Even if the darts did not penetrate through the skin...

-"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

The electric discharge that passed through the wires was strong enough to make him yell. A lesser enemy would have surely been inmobilized with just that attack.

However... That much would not do against a Legend class.

Grabbing the wires, the Yule Goat pulled with all his might Lightning Gadget, launching him against Shadow and Incinerator, who could not avoid the surprise blow as they were busy appreciating their gifts-!

Madras Horror gritted his teeth at the pain from Yule Goat striking him, even if it had not connected properly the blow had dropped his health bar by around a quarter. In turn though Madras Horrors special gauge had been filled by a large amount allowing him to activate his ability, he spoke "Horrific Presence," activating his ability to begin debuffing Yule Goat.

"Hey guys its pretty obvious that if we go at this guy alone we're all going to be killed, we need to cooperate to have any chance here. If someone can hold his attention with me for around two minutes my ability should be able to lock down his accuracy, so does anyone here have solid defense?" Madras Horror asked the group.

Being sure to keep himself within Yule Goat's line of sight Madras Horror moved towards the back of the group in order to not have his ability affect the other players. He knew that without a green avatar here to tank no one would be able to take more than a few blows from Yule Goat and as such it was important he managed to get his debuff working as soon as possible.

Shadow got blown away just by the shockwave of Yule Goat's attack. He previously intend to sneak out after taking the 'Present'. However it looks like he won't able to. He equips [Steel Shoulder Guard] and dives down. At least, this will ensure shockwaves of his attacks unable to hit him. He deduces that Yule Goat doesn't have any ranged attack. Since he has a gun right now, going to a place where he's unable to reach while still keeping him within firing range seems to be the best plan for now. So, he creeps up to the ceiling and unload his gun at Yule Goat

Sezaru would appear inside the Corridor where he had heard the word "Death" echo as he had just entered and turned into his Duel Avatar Violet Repulse; Soooo, who's the idiot that started a Boss Frenzy?? Repulse would think to himself as he would walk towards the Giant Door with the words "Present Room" above it, then noticed Regimental Samurai just 3 meters ahead of him.

Hey, if it isn't Regimental, what's up senpai? Repulse would greet Regimental happily as he ran towards him to get filled in as to what had just transpired before they got here. 

After Repulse had greeted Regimental, before he'd let Regimental reply with whatever he was gonna say, he spotted Damson Incinerator, Jonquil Shadow, and two other Duel Avatars he encountered in the Battle Royale, but can't recall their names due to sticking with Regimental and Slasher at the time.

Yari yari, the whole gangs here, I wonder......if this is what the room implies to be..... Repulse would say as he looked into the room and spotted a Present Box, two to be exact, OI Regimental Senpai, two presents 10 o'clock, Repulse would say this as he immediately dashed towards those presents, seeing that the entire Present Room is in Chaos, he would take one of the Presents at the given position he had stated to Regimental, and guard the other Present for him.

C'mon Regimental, not sure how long I can guard this gift before I get targeted. Repulse would say urgently to Regimental as he wonders what he'd get out of the Present Box he had just scooped up, while holding his EA the VG - 07 GunBlade in a Reverse Grip like usual.

Damson didn't like being flung around by that, but thankfully his health didn't decrease too badly. He was also happy that his KG was going up. If it only went up just a bit more... He then looked at his left arm at the mounted electric saw, which would give him an even better chance at CQC if it came to it. He listened to Horror and looked back at him but shook his head.

"I don't have good defense, sorry. I'm ranged, so I'll be able to shave off some of his health...and at the same time increase my KG." < A pause > "I really don't like being tossed around like some rag doll an old sandbox video game...."

He brought up his Flame Waker and aimed it at the Boss. Unless the others stopped him, he would fire four fire balls at him. That would cause four teeth to go dark on the side of his weapon.

Lightning Gadget was pulled like a Yo-Yo, by his Taser wires and was sent into two of the others dealing collision damage to all three of them. Gadget recovered from the attack recovered his taser probes from the boss and then hummed as he thought "well at least I now know a weakness this old goat has, direct and frontal attacks can be countered but if he can't reach my wires and pull on them to counter my attack.  I won't risk getting any more damage from that but what I need is something that doesn't attach to him." He glanced at Shadow's gun. "like a projectile weapon." He then looked at the presents that were just laying there. He had originally thought about not grabbing one because it would have marked him for death by the boss and it would have been a crime but since the boss had decided to attack him just because he didn't have a present for him. It was time to show this old goat what happens when you mess with someone who did not attack first. "he asked for it by attacking me without cause. I did nothing to him but yet he's going to be a bully and I know how to deal with bullies. Piss them off so much that they are blinded by rage and can't think and plan." Gadget went over to the presents and grabbed one "I pray to the one who knows goodness and light to allow me to overcome all who do evil and call it right."

Right right, my bad Senpai, here, catch! Repulse would say to «Regimental» as he tossed the present to him.

Now......let's hope I don't get targeted for this right now.....that Goat and Santa Claus here look like they mean a crap ton of Business.... «Repulse» would think to himself as he gets his guard back up.

The tower of a man rapidly notices something is amiss. The moment his eyes lock onto your Duel Avatar, something strange begins to happen. Yet the warrior does not falter. He has seen worse than some maggots-!

However, right before he's about to charge forward, the impact of bullets against his head make him stop dead in his tracks.

They bounce off, lowering his Health Gauge by a few dots, but the greatest effect they accomplish is that he wastes a few crucial seconds looking towards the direction the bullets came from, buying time for Damson Incinerator to launch his own ranged attack-!

Four dark projectiles fly and impact against Yule Goat's back, managing to inflict a substantial amount of damage and send him staggering forward. However, the look in him...

Is that of pure anger.

Damson Incinerator tries to move, but after launching an attack of his own there's barely enough time to predict the opponent's attack, who with a single jump appears in a matter of seconds on front of him-!

His chest, right shoulder, and right side of the mask are shattered by the sheer force of the horizontal blow of the ancient spirit of revenge's weapon into his body, hopelessly flung all the way outside the room and into the outer side of the hallway.

Meanwhile...

Lightning Gadget grabs a firm hold of his present, unlocking as a gift the Enhanced Armament card 'Gift: Lightning Boots'. Upon equipping them, Gadget's boots changed shape to one more suited for running at higher speed, enhancing his own natural running speed. Furthermore, it felt like something else could be done with them...

Lightning Boots: +30 to AGI. Due to their peculiar design, with a metallic concavity in the middle, they enable its user to grind on objects such as pipes or handrails.

Regimental Samurai unfolded his own gift and equipped it, which appeared as a metallic coloured blade, smaller than the one he wielded, which appeared right below his Katana. Its name was 'Gift: Chrome Wakizashi'.

Chrome Wakizashi: +30 to DIR when wielded. Resistant to corrosion. Meant to be the partner to Regimental Samurai's current blade.

At the same time, Violet Repulse unwrapped his own gift, which resulted in obtaining an Enhanced Armament card with the picture of a short sword. Upon equipping it, a turquoise coloured blade appeared in his left hand, which seemingly had the power to generate electrical currents. But, it did not appear to target the opponent, but oneself...?

Resolve: Sacrifice 5% of your Health Gauge for a boost of +50 to DIR or AGI, using electrical currents to forcibly move your body. KG gain is the same as for damage dealt to an opponent. (in Violet Repulse's case it's 1:1 ratio)

Madras Horror stayed to the back of the group to ensure that he stayed out of his allies vision as much as possible while trying to stay in Yule Goats vision as much as possible to maximize the effectiveness of his ability. "Well if none of us have a solid defense then our only option to just keep hitting him and not give him a chance to hit back. Also with Incinerators health so low we need to make sure and cover him," Madras Horror said to the group hoping they would be able to keep Incinerator alive for his huge damage potential.
