Gadget replied "I think I've detected a pattern, he attacks the last one who damages him so if we sync our attacks one right after another with the last one attacking being someone who has enough HP or defense to handle his counter attack," He glanced at Samurai "or has an ability to dodge it almost completely." He glanced at Shadow "I'm ready to deal as much damage as I can mutter for one move which is my killer combo and I can prevent his counter move against me by using a trick of mine, just say go and I'll go."

Suddenly, Shadow appears behind them. Having moved from the ceiling before and heard their conversation, he propose a little experiment

"So, should one of us try attacking him while the other stay still to make him switch his target? If the system is like those old MMORPGs, that should do"

Gadget hummed then looked towards the door to the present room and started to do calculations of basic geometry. If he while running jumped and grinded on the altar of presents and hit the angle right he could bounce off Yule Goat while his back was turned and he was focused on Incinerator and make for the door. "The stages in accel world mimic the locations in reality therefore there should be a hallway leading to a courtyard that's outside and when outside there will be a lot more space to fight with."

Gadget smirked "allow me to test your theory Shadow." He muttered. He went into a run, jumped and landed on the altar doing a grind via his shoes then leapt off the altar and went both feet into Yule Goat's back. "Hey Santa," He taunted then coiled his knees then sprung from Yule Goat right towards the door and slid out of it. "Thanks for the boots ya old goat!" He shouted as he took off laughing into the hallway heading for the courtyard.

Teal Hero

"Eh, this is real weird..." Hero muttered, as he examined his surroundings, indeed this wasn't quite what he had expected, well except for...

"Oh...Pr-preeeee-seeeeeee-GIFTS!"

With that outburst, Hero ignored the weird feeling he was getting from behind and dash towards the Presents room, completely oblivious to his surroundings! As soon as he was in, he kept going forwards, reaching out and grasping a present which felt "just right."

Sounds crazy, but it may just work, Repulse would say calmly. But obviously we need an order to follow based on the highest Health Gauge, whoever has low HP Attacks first, the as we progress, the ones with Higher HP attack until the highest HP attacker finishes attacking. In this case, it'd be Regimental, Shadow, or I myself taking a hit. Repulse further continued to tell everybody as to make sure that they each know the risks involved with this plan.

Realizing that this plan is crazy enough to work if coordinated well enough, Repulse would then scan the room for any nearby ledges, but couldn't find any to take advantage of, he then looked at his new found weapon and carefully read it's effects quickly. Ahhhh, so that's what it does, okay that, let's test it out. Repulse would say this to himself as he let out a Small Jolt of Electricity to himself to increase his AGI by +50. Repulse would then dash towards the hallway looking for other doors to gain access to.

Oi Regimental-Senpai, help me look a wide open area we can separate the Goat and Santa Claus into? Repulse would then ask Regimental calmly but with urgency.

Pain. Head jarring pain. That is what he felt at the moment. Damson could feel that he was missing pieces of himself, including part of his Avatar's mask. He was about to get up, when somthing stepped on him. He gasped a bit as Gadget had stepped on him while he was running. He leaned his body up and looked back at him. A hatred for him started boiling inside, he had stepped on him on purpose. That is what he thought. That guy thought he was so above him, that it meant he could do that. Trying to calm himself down, but being unsuccessful, he shouts after him.

"Hey you bastard! Look where you're going!"

Damson got up off the ground and headed towards the wall of the hallway. He stumbles a bit and finally gets there, he puts his hand against it, trying to steady himself. He couldn't remember the last time he felt such utter pain in his short time as a Burst Linker. He wanted to use his KM but, at the moment, he wasn't able to even though his KG was Maxed.

Lightning Gadget

The moment the door was slammed open, he was greeted by a sight none could have imagined.

A inner sanctuary of roughly the same size as a small football field, in whose center stood alone a gargantuan birch tree, which gave the impression of being so ancient one could somehow not help but ponder how many seasons it had survived, without the slightest intention of dying off.

That tree was the Yule Goat's own shrine. It was not as beautifully decorated as the virtual christmas trees most kids had home, but somehow... It felt purer.

Teal Hero

Teal Hero unfolded his own present, which revealed a small Enhanced Armament card with the words: 'Gift: Jetstream Blade'. Upon equipping it, a large blade not much different from a plane's wing, with its hilt somehow resembling a jet engine appeared in Teal Hero's right hand. Despite being somewhat reliable as a melee weapon, it appeared that its functionality lied somewhere else...

Jetstream Blade: +20 to DIR. It's main function however is to boost AGI and DIR by +30 for a single turn for the purpose of a charge forward. 2 turns cooldown between uses.

When Damson yelled at him, Gadget didn't bother replying. He was too focused on getting as much distance between him and Yule Goat before the old goat decided to chase him and counter his melee attack. He found it curious that the boss didn't decide to instantly chase him. Gadget huffed and decided to look around and the area was quite barren, only a single massive birch tree in the center. The only real cover he had was that tree but something seemed special about it. Gadget wondered if the tree was some sort of goal. He ran to the tree and started to study it walking around it so that in case the Yule Goat came rushing in. He could cover himself using that tree.

The 'palace,' if it could be called that, seemed deceptively small, or so it appeared to Gunsou - Turquoise Protector. Glancing around the small entrance he had appeared in, he walked through the corridor-

Into chaos. A large goat-like monster was battling several avatars, and as a purplish one was flung away, it was plain to see who was winning.

"Uh...what the...?!"

Backing away, Gunsou instinctively obeyed his instincts, tripping over several wrapped boxes. It didn't occur to him to pick them up, because his resulting fall echoed throughout the room.

"---this is deep shit I'm in!!"

«Chrome Wakizashi»? «Samurai» unsheathes the wakizashi and his own «Regimental Katana». Comparing the lengths, the katana was a full 30 centimeters longer than the 45 centimeter wakizashi. He nodded in approval and re-sheathed both nihontou, hoping that he'd be able to incorporate the shorter blade into his fighting style. Thinking over the history of the samurai, however, he decides to unequip his «Regimental Katana» for the moment. The shorter blade would be easier to control in the tighter, indoor space.

Glancing around, he noticed that many of the other Avatars where just running around with no focus. A couple were trying to coordinate their attacks. And then there was «Jonquil Shadow». He was doing his usual hit-and-run tactic, but he had mostly escaped damage that way. «Samurai» and «Repulse» hadn't been targeted yet. Just as another purple avatar was tossed back through the entryway, a green-blue, heavily built avatar materialized. The new arrival seemed surprised as the purple avatar flew through the air. «Samurai» watched as the newcomer tripped over a pile of presents behind him.

«Samurai» figured he might as well attempt to help someone out, so he jogs over to the blue-green avatar and reaches his hand out to help him up. Whether he takes his hand or not, «Samurai» reaches down for one of the boxes and hands it to him. Here. You're probably gonna need this. I don't know what's in it, but it should definitely help. With that, he heads over to the «Enemy». Good afternoon, «Yule Goat». As much as I hate to say this, I feel the need to. «Samurai» sticks his thumbs where his ears would be and makes a raspberry sound. pbbbthththt! As soon as he finishes, he slashes at the «Enemy» once and zigzags off, sheathing his wakizashi mid-run.

Stat Changes:
(Couldn't resist doing something funny. It kinda sucks that I can only do like 5% w/ each normal Slash. Even with the +30 DIR. Even «Rift Edge» will only do 6% damage. I feel so outmatched here.)

Madras Horror watched as ran from Yule Goat "Somehow I really doubt he is actually going to be followed," Madras Horror said. Still being cautious has never hurt anyone so Madras Horror stood ready to sprint after Yule Goat in case he did so as to keep his abilities effectiveness growing. Seeing Turquoise Protector enter Madras Horror felt relieved, based on his color it could be assumed he had some degree of defence which would be invaluable for this fight. "Hey new guy think you can tank this guy for us?" He asked Turquoise Protector.

Damson felt the pain leave his body, and started looking around. The one who stepped on him had left the place, a new guy appeared, and his KG was full. Damson really had no idea what to do. He could go after the guy who stepped on him, go back into the room to try to plan an attack, or he easily shoot his KM at the Yule, and cause even more damage. That last one though would be risky, not only draw the Yule's attention yet again, but it could also hit the others. Damson has played enough VR games to know when to work as a team to fight a boss, even though he hated other people.

He made his decision and headed back into the present room. He used the reloading mechanism on his Waker to bring the amount back to all 16 shots, the teeth on the edges glowed faintly. Damson neared Madras, but kept a good distance from him.

"My KG is full, but if I use my KM, then the Goat is gonna kill me. Anyone got a plan?"

The present in your hands quickly unrwaps, putting in your hands a strange card, which soon vanishes. The Enhanced Armament 'Gift: Liberator' has been equipped, which appears a miniature of a tower shield on top of your left hand's vambrace.

Liberator: +30 to AMR. Before the turn's end, the user can switch up to 30 points between DIR and AMR as he sees fit.

Without warning, something heavy slams into Regimental Samurai's chest. Even though he's far more resilent than the rest...

Regimental Samurai

Even when you have been flung towards the room you came from and your chestplate shows cracks, you wordlessly understand there is something odd about this. It should have clearly been a hit potent enough to devastate you, and you could feel his killing intent through that blow.

So why had it lost that much power?

-"Gnnnnnnnnn..."

Yule Goat was showing more and more evident signs of confusion. Thanks to Madras Horror's ability, its perception was slowly but surely becoming more disorted, making his attacks unwillingly not be as strong as when the battle started.

Maybe this would be the time when in a certain RPG game, someone would say 'The enemy's down! Time to finish this!'...?

So, it's not as simple as those old MMORPG's aggro. What's more, it's sentient. Then, it's better to abandon defense and focus on offense

With this in mind, he gives a command to everyone

"It's useless to defense against his attacks! Do not block! Just dodge! Just focus on attacking him and dodging his attacks!"

Then, he moves to the back of the group, reloading his gun and preparing for the next attack

Stunned, Gunsou was speechless as the purple sword-wielding avatar handed him the gift box. He briefly wondered if it was a trap - than quashed the thought; that player must have had opened a few already. He unwrapped the box and found a strange Item Card inside- an Enhanced Armament! Its name is written in English...it doesn't seem that hard to pronounce...

"Equip...The Liberator."

With a brief flash of light, the large shield appears. Mounted on his left forearm and parallel, the soft white glow of the shield was...calming.

Standing up, Gunsou faced the Enemy just as he delivered a glancing blow into the same purple avatar, now holding two swords. A shout echoes from somewhere, but he hardly takes note.

--I can fight with these.

"UUUWOOOOAAAA!"

Charging straight towards the Enemy - «Yule Goat» - Gunsou aims to thrust his left fist into the Goat's flank, supplemented with the increased offensive power of The Liberator!

(I'm only wielding the wakizashi. I unequipped the katana because, IC, I didn't really feel like learning how to use both at the same time.)

Taking the hit from the «Enemy» and being flung across the room wasn't quite as painful as he had expected, but it still hurt like hell. His chest-plate was beginning to crack, but it could still hold up to a couple more of those hits. Unsure how he had gotten away with such little damage, «Samurai» looks around. Nothing has changed...

It's useless to defense against his attacks! Do not block! Just dodge! Just focus on attacking him and dodging his attacks! Hearing his fellow King say these words didn't relieve him any. Easier said than done. At least you can disappear into the shadows.

Regardless of his complaints, «Samurai» shook his head to clear it before glancing over to the blue-green avatar. Apparently, he ended up with a Tower Shield. Oh, good. A defen... Why is he attacking?! He rushes over to the newcomer to help put some pressure on the «Enemy».

Seeing the others begin their attacks on the Enemy, Damson felt he needed to cover their close range assaults. He raised his weapon and fires 4 fire balls at the Yule. The corresponding number of teeth on the Flame waker go dark as well. He had wanted to use his KM but it would of been way to risky. He could hit the CQC fighters.

Gunsou felt the shield connect, eliciting a roar from the Enemy. He stepped back and instinctively ducked,raising his hand above his head as well, expecting a hit in retaliation- but what was unexpected, was that the shield on his left forearm also rotated. It now was vertical, and he blocked the hit just as his forearm and wrist guards deployed.

--this shield, is both offensive and defensive?!

Wondering what kind of boosts it gave, Gunsou mused and file this piece of information away.

I guess, it'll help a lot in blocking a howitzer round!

Madras Horror had a small grin as he saw Yule Goat strike Regimental Samurai while it was undoubtedly a strong blow it was also clearly lacking in the ferocity that his previous blows had. The only reason for this Madras Horror could think of was that his ability was beginning to take effect on his opponent.

He then heard Jonquil Shadow say "So, it's not as simple as those old MMORPG's aggro. What's more, it's sentient. Then, it's better to abandon defense and focus on offense."

"So it would appear well regardless Turquoise Protector over there should help with defence even if only as a meatshield," Madras Horror replied.

After finishing addressing his teammates Madras Horror returned his attention to keeping himself in Yule Goats vision as much as possible.

A single fist drives into the Enemy's body, followed soon afterwards by a slash from Regimental Samurai. Without giving Yule Goat a single moment of relief, four fireballs strike his body, setting it on flames.

He tries to locate his last attacker, the one who can inflict the most damage at him: Damson Incinerator. Accumulating potential energy by flexing his legs, the beast of a man uses all the explosive energy he can muster for a single leap forward.

But, this time his attack path is off enough for Damson to move aside, taking merely scratch damage in the process.

He shuts his eyelids.

As a hunter of the wild forest, eyes are a fundamental tool. However, they are not the only tool he has at his disposal.

His balance soon becomes steadier. His plan is evident: to counter attack with full force, turning this battle into one of attrition. Having still more than two Health Gauges and superior raw defenses, all he has to do is take on all attacks until he has recovered, and then attack...

Gunsou saw the Enemy shut its eyes, emitting a low growl from somewhere within its thoat. The muscles on its right arm tightened, almost as large as his waist-

"-He's gonna strike, watch out!"

Gunsou had no idea exactly how many combatants where there in this fight. At least three were present if he counted the avatar that had fired the fireballs; was the purple one, Regimental Samurai - he notes with a glance - working together with the second avatar?

Then the Enemy's muscles twitched; out of sheer instinct he ducked, raising his arms and The Liberator to cover his face: the activating motion for his strongest skill, Counter Stop.

Anchors from his calves stabbed the floor, locking him in place; his forearm guards quick-deployed and The Liberator turned into its horizontal postion. Gunsou braced--

With his HP at critical level, he should have enough KG to use his KM. But why didn't he do it?

What he was referencing to is Damson Incinerator and his KM, Pit Fire Incinerator. The attack will surely be devastating and with a full KG, he should be able to use it twice. Yet he didn't use it at all. Shadow tried to think why and after some time, he finally got the answer : The AOE is very big that it will engulf the others who's attacking Yule Goat at close range.

"Damson Incinerator! Just use your Killer Move! We will think of something to avoid getting caught in it." said Shadow

He dives again and soundlessly moves to Yule Goat's back, who shouldn't have known since his eyes are closed. One arm with a gun being held by it sticks out from Yule Goat's back as he deactivates his ability. The arm bends, making the gun pointed straight to Yule Goat's neck

This will surely leave a mark instead of bouncing off like before

With that in his mind, he confidently fired at point blank range, emptying his magazine

Madras Horror felt quite accomplished with himself after seeing Yule Goats attack on Damson Incinerator fail, this feeling was short lived though because soon after Yule Goat closed his eyes an action that would nullify the effects of Madras Horrors ability.

"Hey guys know how I said my ability would get rid of his accuracy, well you all saw it has been working but it won't be anymore. When he opens his eyes he will be back to full power and I doubt he will let me use it again so lets kill him before then no?" Madras Horror said to the group knowing that he would likely be Yule Goats target as soon as he resumed attacking.

This in mind Madras Horror decided it was time for himself to start attacking since his ability would no longer be much help. Then though he heard Jonquil Shadow yell "Damson Incinerator! Just use your Killer Move! We will think of something to avoid getting caught in it."

"Well if some kind of AoE move is going to be hitting Yule Goat soon I guess I should just sit back and watch then no need to get caught in it needlessly," Madras Horror thought as he decided to hold is position at the back of the group.

While everyone else was worried about Yule Goat, Gadget wasn't. In fact he was bored, why? Well it's because the theory he willingly tested proved to be wrong. Yule Goat did not go after the one who attacked him last. He did not pursue after Gadget after Gadget made his exit out of the present room down the hallway and into the courtyard. He had escaped from the battle and was out of range. He couldn't even hear the boss.

Normally such an escape against a boss type character in an RPG would have been restricted for story line purposes but since Gadget had made an escape such restrictions were not in play in a sense. He could escape the boss but was actually stuck in acceleration. He could not leave by the burst out command, nor by a log out command which was darkened on his menu. He assumed it was because of the new indicted status on his avatar inflicted when he had taken a present. He was mentally beating himself up for letting his dark emotions of revenge get the best of him and once he was done beating himself up. He decided to focus on the problem.

"Okay let's see here." He muttered to himself "There is a strong chance that I can not escape until I get the indicted status off my system. The question is how do I get it off. Do I have to battle and defeat that legend class enemy, Yule Goat? Personally I don't feel the need to be bashed around by that grumpy old goat. I didn't even attack him and I offered him what I could but to him it wasn't enough, who does he think he is to judge how good a gift is. If a gift is from the heart it doesn't matter what it is, it's the thought that counts."

Gadget blinked then looked at the tree which had the feeling of a shrine "people often leave gifts behind at a shrine with a prayer for blessings. Perhaps if I did the same maybe I can be redeemed for my crime. If not well at least I followed what my heart tells me to do." He worked with his menu and de-equipped his lightning boots and resealed it into an EA card and charged 25 BP to a point card which was the same cost as losing a battle because deep down he felt that had lost this battle to his own desires of revenge. He placed both cards under the tree then knelt down and prayed asking for forgiveness to the spirit of christmas for his sin.

The pain from the scratch flared but it was near nothing compared to the attack from earlier. Then he heard someone shout at him. Damson looked over, surprised that Shadow remembered his KM, back in his fight with Valkyria. He nodded and shouted back at him.

"All right then. If you really think that way, I'll use it."

He moved as far as he could from Yule and raised his weapon above his head. 8 teeth darkened and 40% of his KG fell instantaneously-

"PIT FIRE INCINERATION!"

Calling out his ultimate move, a pale purple ray shot out of his Waker and made a path directly to the feet of the Yule. Underneath the ground would begin cracking from the intense flames about to come forth...
