Kenji Harata//Sapphire Minstrel

Personality: Kenji could seem like a very distracted child to any passerby. He can constantly be found staring out a window, at his desk, or just out into space. Because of this, Kenji isn't well liked by any teacher he has ever had. Even when talking to Kenji, he seems a bit distant aloof. Don't confuse this for anti-social behavior however, as Kenji just usually has his head in the clouds, constantly thinking about other things. A trait that has gotten him into quite a bit of trouble, as well as garnered a bit of suspicion that his hand wasn't the only thinking affected by his accident.
History: Kenji was conceived a bastard son. His father was a musician, who had been playing at a local bar when he had seen Kenji's mother in the crowd. As with all Rock-star love affairs, it ended with a child. Originally, Kenji's father didn't want to keep the child, but Kenji's grandfather would not allow Kenji's father to leave Kenji behind, so Keji's father was forced to marry. The relationship ended up lasting, as Kenji's father ended up really coming to love his wife, Kenji's mother.
When Kenji was still young, His father told him about how they were the descendants of a great musician, who was so good, only the emperor was allowed to hear him play. Ever since that time, every man of the Harata bloodline have been musicians, and talented ones at that! The claim was highly suspect, but nevertheless, Kenji believed it, and often fantasized about playing in front of the emperor, just like his ancestors.
At around 7, Kenji asked his father to start teaching him how to play guitar. His father was thrilled, and start to teach him on the spot. The tutoring was rigorous, but Kenji endured his father's lessons, even going as far as prioritizing them over his school work. Kenji proved to live up to the family name, as his skills with the guitar improved steadily over the next few years. Kenji was never as good as his father, but he was the best musician at his elementary school. However, the better he got at guitar, the his conduct and schoolwork got conversely worse.
The financial situation of the Harata Family wasn't very good either. His father never got a big record deal, despite how good he was, and had to stick with playing at dive bars and clubs to support his family. His mother had become a maid at a local hotel, because she wasn't able to continue her education after she was pregnant with Kenji. Despite the Harata family's near-poverty status, they were content with what little they had. This made the surprise Kenji's father gave him for his 11th birthday. Kenji was ecstatic when he found out his father had been putting aside money to buy Kenji a new guitar.His previous one was old, worn, and sounded terrible even with Kenji's exceptional skills. Kenji started to slack off more on school, just so he could play his guitar even more.
Tragedy struck when Kenji had become the center of a terrible accident. When he was 13, he was on his way to school, his guitar in its case on his back. The walkways were very congested that day, so Kenji had a difficult time trying to maneuver his way through the thick crowds. Soon enough, Kenji was completely lost to the crowds of people, unable to get out. Kenji lost his footing in a panic, falling onto some other person in the crowd, who pushed him back off with a curse. The push finally freed Kenji of the crowd as he fell backwards. However, this respite was short lived, as Kenji found himself in the street. An oncoming truck automatically braked and swerved to avoid hitting the boy dead center, and was successful, as it spared him his life. Kenji just laid in the street, his head throbbing from where it had cracked against the pavement and his body oddly drained of energy. Some people gathered around with looks of shock on their faces. Kenji blacked out after that point, unsure of what everyone seemed so worried about.
An ambulance was called, who picked Kenji and took him off to the hospital, while Kenji's parents were notified and they rushed themselves to the hospital. When they arrived, they were told that the hand that had been run over would have to be amputated, as the friction from the tire and pavement had not only rended a dangerous amount of flesh from his hand, but also had heavily damaged the bone structure. The doctors told them not to worry too much though, as the amputated hand could just be replaced with a robotic one, and the difference wouldn't be noticeable. Kenji's parents however, couldn't afford such an expensive treatment, and asked if their was any alternative. The doctor responded by telling them that Kenji's hand could be replaced with an old plastic prosthetic hand. He said that the hand wouldn't work as well as a robotic one, but could be replaced with one when they had the money. His parents readily agreed, and the procedure began.
When Kenji awoke, he found he had no feeling in his right hand. Since Kenji's mother had to work, Kenji's father alone had to explain what had happened and they both cried. Kenji's father cheered him up a little though, when he mentioned that Kenji could get a robotic hand and it would work as his he still had a normal hand. With this in mind, Kenji spotted his guitar case sitting in the corner of the room. When Kenji asked his father to check on it to make sure it was alright. His father bit his lip, his eyes darting between Kenji and the case. He sighed, before explaining that the guitar had been smashed in the accident. Kenji's fathered offered to show him the proof, but Kenji shook his head, not wanting to see his precious instrument destroyed. After a week or so, Kenji checked out of the hospital. The prosthetic hand the hospital provided was uncomfortable, and felt awkward to him. He hated it at first, taking any excuse he could to not wear it. However, after some time with it, he became accustomed to it, going as far as to manipulate it to hold a guitar pick. Using his good hand as his fretting hand, as well as his old guitar, Kenji tried to play the guitar left-handed. However, he found his left-hand just didn't have the muscle-memory, and he would basically have to re-teach himself how to play. His dad tried to be supportive of him, but Kenji could see past his sugar-coated critiques. His playing was awful now.
With much protest, Kenji was forced to go back to school. He had missed an alarming amount of work, and staying out any longer would make him have to repeat. He was met with quite a bit of sympathy by his classmates. This was where he caught the eye of Naomi. He and Naomi hadn't talked too much, as their respective interests and hobbies didn't overlap much. The only thing they really had in common, was sharing a few classes. The interactions they had though were general positive. However, after the accident, Naomi talked to him a lot more for reasons he didn't now, even going as far as to eat lunch with him a few times. One time at lunch, Naomi brought up the accident, specifically the loss of his hand. Kenji answered her questions, if not a little put-off by her sudden prying of the experience. Then she started to ask even stranger questions. Stuff like how many different chords he knew, how fast he used to be able to play, how long it took him to learn and play a song from sheet music. Eventually Kenji snapped a little, asking why the series or strange questions about his now lost skills. She smiled asked him a simple question.
"How would you like to have your hand back?"
Of course, Kenji just scoffed at her. The only true replacement he could ever get, was one of those fancy robotic ones that costed a lot more money then he was able to afford. Naomi then asked him to meet her after school in the computer lab. It was there that Kenji was introduced to the Brain Burst program. Naomi was uncharacteristically silent during the procedure, only giving out the smallest nuggets of insight into what exactly was going on. As the program was finishing up the installation, she seemed to stare at him with a sort of intensity he hadn't seen out of her. She asked if it installed successfully and Kenji replied that it did. Another smile spread across her face. She disconnected from him without any further words. As she walked out the room, she waved back at Kenji, wishing him a good nights sleep. Utterly confused by the series of events, Kenji just sighed and headed for home. he would figure out that program, whatever it was, tomorrow.
That night, Kenji's dream was oddly vivid. Things stated off as normal as any other dream could be, but before long, he found himself sitting in a large, traditional room. A quick inspection of his person revealed that he was clad in ceremonial robes, a guitar in his right hand. His right hand?.... He stared at it for a moment, unsure of why the sight of his hand confused him. Suddenly, the sound of somebody clearing their throat alerted him to another presence in the room. Seated directly in front of him was none other than the Emperor himself! Was he always there? Nevertheless, he stared down at Kenji expectantly. Suddenly he felt compelled to play. Getting the guitar into position quickly, Kenji brought his hand down, strumming a chord. The sound was far more rich then anything he had ever produced. The Emperor looked down at him, as if to ask if he was supposed to be impressed by just a single chord. Or did he say it? His lips were moving, but no sound came out. Shaking his head, Kenji launched into a piece he had been working on before.... before what? Kenji kept strumming but suddenly the notes started to become muffled and sloppy. His dad looked very displeased with him as the music fell apart. Look down at his right hand, he saw that it was just a mangled piece of flesh. He screamed, dropping his guitar which seemed to shatter like glass. Holding his right hand he looked back at where the Emperor was, but saw he was already leaving. He begged for help, though the Emperor only ignored him. His father only turned back for a moment to mutter a single word.
"Shameful"
The word shattered Kenji, as he slumped to the ground, the overwhelming sensation that he had not only failed himself, but those close to him. He laid there for a bit, before his eye trained onto the clump of rotten flesh that was his right hand. Maggots had started infesting it, making for a truly grotesque display. He could feel what seemed to be the eyes of his ancestors gazing upon him, giving off the same ashamed feeling he got from his father. If only he could have his right hand back. He would be able to make his father proud of him yet again, and not feel like such a failure to the family name.
"So, that is what you want then?"

Description- 'The Axe' Is Minstrel's main form of attack. It looks like a normal guitar, down to the body of it, where it can be best described as a battle-axe, hence the name. Strings still run down the length of it, as well as knobs for changing the volume are present. It can seemingly produce sound from nowhere, as their is not a visible amplifier. +2 Strength
Killer Move: Sonic Wave
By using 35% of his KM meter, Minstrel strikes all the strings on his EA, Causing his enemy to be slightly-paralyzed for their next two turns. The wave has a range of 10 meters, and appears to be a 45 degree frontal cone.
