Shadow was delighted. It seems like Gadget is thinking the same thing (albeit, with a little difference in details). Then he continued his reply

"Of course they can. You've seen it beforehand, didn't you? However, I can't use it now. Gonna need to fill up the gauge"

As he said that, he 'resurface' and destroyed the wall near them

Gadget flinched slightly at the noise "hey man, I know the guy's busy with the others but don't draw attention to ourselves. We need time to fill up our gauges and speaking of time the more time I use up now the less time I have to wait for a reattachment." He hummed as he placed down his hands like spider on the ground "Hands as Gadgets." His hand detached themselves and became active. They looked left and right but then sharply turned and focused on Shadow. If they had been Snake of Metal Gear Solid, an exclamation mark would have gone above their wrists to signal their alert of an enemy in range

LH + RH: Enemy Avatar in melee range, hammer attack

The hands turned to fists to attack with a hammer pound on Shadow's feet.

"Hold it you two." Gadget commanded

Both hands stopped in their tracks

"Shadow may have been an enemy before but he's a temporary ally for now our main target is that guy wielding the massive flame creating sword."

Both hands paused for a moment as Gadget relayed the data of the enemy

RH: Boss with big sword, one hit by him we're finger food.

LH: indeed, that is why I think boss is cooking a sneak plan with his ally we're going to have to not struggle when the plan is in action

RH: right.

Both hands returned to their spider stances

Gadget smiled slightly "okay my hands aren't going to mess with you. Now to get some gauge, hands up on shoulders"

Both hands climbed up Gadget's arms until they lightly perched themselves on his shoulders.

Gadget stood up and started making his way away from the main fighting destroying stuff to get KG as he went. (KG: 20)

[Royal Duke]

Even down on the ground, U.N; Sephiroth still possessed his strength and skill; slashing down, then up in a 'V' shape, he aimed for both the leg of Gulf Beast and the wrists of Regimental Samurai, who had paused mid-strike lest he lose his footing--!

In reflex, Haruto did the most basic of actions; attempt to roll away from danger. However, he did not realize that left his back wide open to being slashed away by his enemy's weapon-!

-"Ouch!"

Even though it was nothing but armor, said armor felt like a thick layer of skin to him, and thus couldn't help but cry in pain as the blade sliced all the way from his left gluteus to his right shoulder with flashy SFX spark effects, leaving a deep gash on his body as his Health Gauge lowered by 30%.

Standing on one knee, he began to have doubts wether fighting this enemy or not was a good idea. But...

If he ran now, how would he become stronger?

If he ran now... How was he going to free himself from the shackles that held him?

-"It isn't over yet... You bastard..."

He thought that he could fight against a weapon bare handed. How naive.

A weapon had a disadvantage: unlike fighting with your bare hands, a sword restricted your type of attack to patterns that could be predicted, and what was more, it's structural weaknesses could be used.

But one thing was thinking about it from a mere theoretical standpoint, and another trying to seriously face someone with an oversized knife that could cut you up like butter if you approached him recklessly.

He could... Yeah. He could use his Special Technique. As tempted as he was to use it, he realized that right there it would only allow the enemy to predict the course of trajectory of his attacks as he was.

In other words... He had to wait if he wanted a chance for victory.

Here I go!

His plan was as blunt and upolished as the other. Approach from the front, sidestep the moment the opponent tries to stand up and slash away at him and get very close to him. Then if possible grab his arm sword with one hand and punch his sides with the other repeatedly, in a desperate attempt to lower his health as much as possible until reinforcements arrived or until he was pushed back.

After ruuning to a small alley and making sure that no one followed me, I clicked on my name just like he told me.
-If you do manage to get a moment, try to click on your name to open the menu. This will show you your abilities you can use in a fight. From there it's up to you on how to use those.

Looking through the menus, I see a picture of my avatar. "I look like a yuki-onna, at least my avatar is pretty!"Then, I finally manage to access my abilities. "Ice Creation" which allows me to create ice in a 5 meters radius around me, and "Frostbite", a high cost attack with low damage but allows me to litterally shatter a limb of my opponent's avatar. That's pretty violent... but I guess it is good to weaken my opponents if it connects.

Taking a deep breath a get out of my shelter to analyze the situation. Several avatars are teaming up to take another one down. My lack of experience would make that I would get in the others legs but I can't actually progress by staying still.

Looking my the hand of my almost white, kimono clad avatar, I clench my fist and run to the brawl!

That was faster than I'd thought...

Standing directly behind the brawl indeed had its merit.  As made clear by the counterattack, it really did seem that the two on their side was hardly a equal match for their katana-wielding opponent.  Gauss hated to get involved this early on in the game, but the situation did not give him the luxury to wait otherwise.  A quick observation ascertained that the samurai was one of the two direct combat types available at their disposal, and the pain of losing one now would surely be felt later on in the fight. The attack to wrist would be debilitating for a sword user.  

With a slight movement of hands, the pattern of one hovering shield changed drastically and no longer floated aimless to cover his front part.  With the target ascertained and the trajectory well set, the disc, now a bludgeon, flew forth to intercept the blade midair before it connect with Samurai's wrists.  

While it undeniable that Gauss was slow and his intervention was unlikely to be perfect, he'd hoped that the extra time taken by the enemy to slash the leg of the bestial avatar would allow his intervention to be in time.

[Sado Ikaru]

«Samurai» watched as «Sephiroth» slashed the beast-like avatar. He saw something coming towards them from the corner of his eye. He pulls backward, hoping to dodge the projectile. As he dodges, he sees that «Sephiroth» was swinging his katana up, towards his wrists. He lets his wrists go slack, releasing his katana. As the opponent connects with his wrists, «Samurai» moves his arms with the force of the swing, reducing the damage. He swings his right hand around and catches his katana before it hits the ground.

That was a close one.

«Samurai» was starting to get annoyed. He knew he wasn't the only samurai or samurai-like Avatar, but he was a former King. He wasn't about to let some «Enemy» make a fool out of him. His wrists were a bit sore after that close call, but he endured it. Tch. You're a tough one, but are you tough enough? He glances at the green avatar, assuming that he was the one that "threw" that projectile. At least that beast and I aren't the only ones trying.

Samurai attacks «Sephiroth» with 3 slashes.

Seeing that Gadget seems to worry to much, he quickly replies

"Relax, those guys are a close range type DA. They would be a formidable opponent even for Sephiroth. We should just concentrate on filling our gauge."

An object near him is destroyed, filling his KG

KG : 14% + 5% = 19%

After that, he continues his reply

"Besides, if push comes to shove, I'll personally bring those hands of yours up close to him myself"

Gadget hummed when he heard Shadow tell him to relax. "if only I could learn what he means by people turning into monsters." He muttered thinking about what Sephiroth said in the beginning "if it has to do with being corrupted by the power of acceleration then I guess he's got a point." He kicked a barricade causing it to crumble. "The program on the surface seems simple but this game adds a whole new dimension that complicates things." (KG: 25)

[Destination]

Gulf Beast:

Samurai attacks «Sephiroth» with three slashes.

As both avatars on top of him take damage from the V-slash and attempt to counter, U.N; Sephiroth decides he's been on the ground too long, and too many avatars are within range to be comfortable. And the other three a distance away seem to be plotting something...

He kicks-- hard. Sliding along the ground, the momentum drives him out of range of Gulf Beast and Regimental Samurai; he lets their mutual attacks collide and hurt the other.

Rolling backwards on his shoulders, U.N; Sephiroth jumps neatly back onto his feet.

Just as Lightning Gadget and Jonquil Shadow pull to a stop, lest they run into U.N; Sephiroth, he flourishes his katana once-- twice--

Ten arcs of light fly towards the two yellow avatars at close range!

As a final measure to stop the cunning opponents in their tracks, U.N; Sephiroth slashes the stage in a line dividing himself and the two, setting it aflame once more.

He turns to face the two close-range avatars against, katana at shoulder height and ready to strike!

As Sephiroth kicks the ground, there's only one thing appearing in Shadow's mind.

"He's coming after us!"

Without thinking about Gadget, he quickly falls down ,back first, to the ground with the intention to hide in the shadow and run away. However, this move makes him managed to avoid the arcs by a hair's breadth.

Seeing that Sephiroth is vulnerable after using his Killer Move, he decided to change his plan. He starts to creeps up to Sephiroth, thinking of attacking again. However, stage was set aflame before he could get there and halt his progress. As Sephiroth turns his attention away, he decided to creeps up to Gadget to check if he's OK

[Kuro]

Peeking out from behind the large green avatar, Banshee spied on the powerful foe, waiting for an opportune moment.  So far Sephiroth seemed to be having little difficulty in handling the majority of their combined forces.  But Banshee thought he saw his chance when the long katana wielding avatar turned towards the yellow avatars and launched his attack.  Banshee took this moment to launch his own attack from behind.

Jumping out from behind Olive Gauss, Banshee sprinted in low and fast, vaulting himself up from his position near the ground when he came up to Sephiroth's back and slashing with both clawed hands simultaneously.  He wasn't sure that he could do much with his low melee capabilities, but if anything, his joining the fight could give a needed distraction for the others to find openings in Sephiroth's defenses.

[Guest]

An alert with a computer chirping noise and faint red flashing covering the right side of Gadget's vision. Detecting a powerful enemy as marked by Gadget in close range would trigger such an alert due to his hands having taken up sensor positions on Gadget's shoulder. Gadget managed to see Sephiroth pull his dodge move then attack and Gadget bent backwards with his joints rotating with smooth robotic gyro sound and he would do a table bend which his arms making the other legs. His hands bailing from the shoulders when they were close to the ground to dodge the attack. The arrows zipping just above his face and chest like streaks of light and two of them grazing his chest and face which burned and made him grunt. If Gadget had any form of guns on his shoulders they would have been shooting back to try and damage the opponent but for now Gadget could only take 20% damage (HP: 70 KG: 45) and deal nothing back.

Gadget bent his knees and elbows to get some leverage and raised himself back to a two legged standing position like a robot. His expression was one of annoyance. He quickly rocked his head side to side and shrugged his shoulders and adjusted his legs to reset them from the hard bend he just had to pull. His hands peered out from behind Gadget's leg and the right hand reared up clenched together twice then held it in anger. The left hand spider crawled forward tapped the ground with it's index to signal to Shadow then pointed it's index to Sephiroth signaling it was ready to do some shock therapy

[Destination]

Wisteria Banshee:

Banshee sprinted in low and fast, vaulting himself up from his position near the ground when he came up to Sephiroth's back and slashing with both clawed hands simultaneously.

As U.N; Sephiroth turned, he felt claws raking down his back, two pairs of them--

"--GAAAH!"

Although lacking strength, they were nonetheless painful, and a scrap of health was knocked off as a result!

U.N; Sephiroth stared into the eyes of the purplish avatar as though willing his mere gaze to kill--

"--you actually dare to touch me?"

The overwhelming hate and anger carried freezes Banshee to the spot; U.N; Sephiroth raises his katana up high.

"Suffer your fate, vermin!!"

New Killer Move discovered!

Name: Octoslash

Cost: 50% (Active Skill)

Description: Flourishing the blade at shoulder height or greater, U.N; Sephiroth, guided by both the system assist and his own willpower as a swordsman cuts with all the precision of a laser, slashing eight times straight ahead of him.

Weaknesses: Once started, the sword skill can't stop. The skill can be stopped forcefully by a guard of a parry. If you can't, then get behind him, where he won't reach you.

The sword skill takes ~5 seconds to complete.

Gadget was blown away in shock. Sephiroth had just cut someone up like that person was a food product and Sephiroth was the sharpest kitchen knife in the world but that's when a realization hit Gadget, the sword, the sword was the key to Sephiroth's power if one disarmed Sephiroth or destroyed the sword then Sephiroth would be powerless. He had to relay this to the others somehow but first came self preservation. Gadget had his hands climb back onto his shoulders and he took off running toward the junction that Sephiroth appeared at to put distance between himself and Sephiroth. He hoped Shadow would follow him

Shadow is moving towards Gadget to pick up the hands when it happened. Eight slashes at the speed of light (of course, exaggeration) killed a DA coming at him. Furthermore, the DA, Wisteria Banshee, was killed right at the first hit

"You've got to be kidding me...."

Filled with shock, fear, and disbelief, he runs away with Gadget

Gadget ran around the corner of the junction taking out some rubble on the corner for KG (KG: 50)

LH: What do we do now Boss,

"we keep our distance as long as we stay out of his range or see his attacks coming we can avoid taking heavy damage." Gadget projected to his hands

RH: but how can we deal damage if we have to stay out of his range.

Gadget hummed then looked upward "we go above him." He projected to his hands. He looked around the junction and saw an alley way near the building he was near and ran into it and found a fire escape "The buildings can not be entered into but we can always go up to the roof via fire escapes and if we prepare traps we can nail him with damage when he tries to follow us. Left Hand hop up there and see if you can release the ladder " He held up arm up towards the fire escape

LH: got it

The left hand ran off Gadget's arm hopped onto the first level platform then spider walked over to the release bar on the ladder and attempted to release it by hopping onto it but didn't have enough force to release the ladder.

LH: Problem... not enough force to release ladder

Gadget grunted "I don't have time for problems."

Seeing Gadget trying to release the ladder, he feels he has to help to ensure their safety. After all, raid boss is about cooperation. They've seen how Banshee was killed in the blink of an eye and it serves as a testament of how strong Sephiroth was.

Without saying a words, he sticks to the wall and climb up to the fire escape. He released the ladder with ease and signaled Gadget to come up.

"I hope you have a good plan for trying to go up to the roof"

-"I... I'm getting sick of this shit..."

Having barely avoided his companion's attacks, yet having taken severe damage, Haruto lied on the ground as the swordsman summoned yet another wall of flame that slowly but surely kept on eating away at his armor. At the same time, another Duel Avatar jumped into the fight, only to be instantly cleaved in half by /that/ monster. Ahaha. They were going to die.

They were complete and utterly fucked.

However, this sort of thing, Haruto could not bear to stand it. As opposed to his companions who ran away, seeing the swordsman activate his sword skill only made his blood boil.

In his nightmare, he had been powerless. He had not chosen to be like that. He was instead made powerless by those around him. He was fed and patted in the head when he did things the way they wanted him to, thinking they could domesticate him and put him on a leash.

They were wrong.

All it took was a single thought.

-"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!"

His muscles burned and ached, but the only thing in his inmediate sight was the enemy ahead of him. An absolute cutting sword. Yet he did not fear it anymore, as his mind was only filled with red.

What good is that if you can't swing it around?

Using his superior strength and speed, he would inmobilize his sword arm before he managed to complete a swing, and proceed to punch his throat in. Then... The outcome of this battle... Would be up to the one with the strongest "willpower"-!

Gadget nodded as he made his way up the ladder slipping his arms through the bars to get himself a hold so that he could move his feet up "yeah I do. It involves building up a defense using the environment. The only way to humanly get up to the roof of a building is via Fire Escapes now unless that guy flies or has a super jump. A trap can be set for the guy to fall into should he attempt to climb up the same way we are. If we loosen the supports of the fire escape but not destroy them as we climb up then if and when he follows the same path we destroy the top support and the entire thing should come crashing down with him on it. I don't know how much damage it will do but it will prevent him from coming up here and if I add a little electricity just before. I can make sure to stun him long enough so that he can't escape the collapse."

Hearing Gadget explaining his idea, he sighed

"Remembering Sephiroth 'inhuman' nature, I don't think he need to take the stairs unless he wants to. I don't know if you know Final Fantasy VII or not, but a little spoiler for you, he can fly."

After a slight pause he continues

"Still he get his inhuman abilities after an event in-game. Let's try your idea and sees how it works"

Shadow walks to the edge of the roof, scouting the area. As he sees Gulf Beast preparing to engage Sephiroth, he speaks again

"There's one more option. We can go with the old plan. There's a guy down there fighting Sephiroth. He could serve as a decoy. You just stay here and wait for my signals. Destroy the fire escape if you feel insecure. I can go up and down easily"

Gadget paused when he heard the word Final Fantasy VII. The name was familiar. He had actually done a report on the evolution of gaming and used that game's beginning scene as one of the examples for his report. Did he know about Sephiroth in particular not really, he didn't play the game so he didn't really know about Sephiroth's power

Gadget exhaled when he heard Shadow mention Sephiroth could fly. "great so much for that plan, okay I'll stay up here and you can take my one of my hand and take it to wherever you need to put it. Also I think the key to his power is his sword, so far three of his major abilities require that sword. If we can somehow disarm him or destroy the sword then we can turn battle around for us.

[Destination]

"...too slow!"

It was indeed an amazing comeback by Gulf Beast to have reacted so quickly. Seeing the red spark-like effect glow momentarily over Gulf Beast, U.N;Sephiroth for a fleeting instant wondered if Beast was an opponent who had learnt that technique...

No, it isn't; The dark blue fist of Guld Beast flies towards him from over five metres distant, but the sparks disappear mid-strike. Easily turning his shoulder to avoid the punch, U.N; Sephiroth lets Gulf Beast out-of-control momentum carry him past into a nearby barrel of fire; yet, not in time to avoid a hasty kick as he flew past.

Wincing from the kick, which seemed much more powerful now - and should be - U.N; Sephiroth suddenly picks up on a single word uttered with an almost casual tone from high above.
Game?

With the sword skill finished and no further opponents in sight, U.N; Sephiroth turns and shoots a powerful glare at the chatty Yellow oppnents.

Levelling his katana at them:

"I am Sephiroth, designation U.N. Peerless swordsman, Blade Master, all have called me that."

A single tear rolls down his cheek as he recalls words spoken by people long dead.

"It is true that my ancestor took to the skies to find our Mother...but since you so despise our existence, crushing us, mocking us, eradicating us from history.."

He steps forwards - and cuts through the building's pillars--

"Then I will kill you all."

The build shook underneath him. It didn't take a genius to figure out it was going to collapse.

"scratch that last thought I'm out of here!" Gadget cried out as he ran reattaching his hands to his wrists abandoning all plans of attack for a simple plan of self preservation. At the current rate, all he could do was run and jump towards the next building across the alleyway with the hope he could make it. With all his mind focused he ran to the edge of the building and jumped. He reached out to grab the ledge of the opposite building and did so. He was now hanging by his grip.

Shadow didn't really expect Sephiroth to hear them and this caught him in surprise. However, his ability gives him the ability to easily traverse any kind of surfaces. As he's stuck to the floor, he easily slips away through the surfaces of the walls until he reaches the ground as the building crumbles away.

Seeing that another chance arise, he doesn't stop there. He creeps up beneath Sephiroth. Then he does a jumping uppercut while deactivating his ability at the same time, making him being propelled upwards right at the bottom of Sephiroth. The target is again, the crotch

[Sado Ikaru]

Since their last confrontation, «Samurai» had been trying to think of a plan. «Sephiroth» seemed to be an extremely strong swordsman, but «Samurai» could tell that they were about the same speed. The opponent's abilities were impressively strong - almost impossibly strong.

«Samurai» saw his chance as «Sephiroth» attacked a building. He charges towards the «Enemy», katana ready to attack. When he was within range, «Samurai» struck. One near-vertical slash upward, a downward slash, another upward slash, another downward slash, and a left-to-right horizontal slash before re-sheathing.
