Lightning Gadget Vs. Alice Frost

Arashi was just chilling in his lab at school going over his battle notes. His battles as Lightning Gadget have not been going well. His first battle that he used his special as limbs move right away resulted in a very embarrassing loss. His second battle, the defenses of the foe proved to be too tough for Gadget to crack with a close range battle style and that he barely managed to draw by using traps to deal damage and had lost several of his parts in the process.

"I have to learn how to use my gadgets to their maximum potential that is the only way I can win." He muttered. "I need another challenger"

Time stopped suddenly as Brain Burst triggered a duel.

Arashi transformed into Lightning Gadget

Location: Accelerated World
Stage: End of Century

Gadget appeared on the school roof in the end of the century stage the school was surrounded by destruction and some of it had gone into the front courtyard but the school seemed to be in one piece.

"ask for a challenger get one." Gadget muttered "who is my opponent." He looked up towards the status bars and saw that his opponent was Alice Frost.

"hmm... Alice Frost sounds like she's an Ice specialist better watch out for anything ice related." He muttered

[Alice]

After meeting up with my senpai and getting the last explanations he needed to tell me, we went to a cafe not far from the school. Once we had taken place he spoke again.

-Now that you have the basics learnt it is time to put it into application. Select an opponent and challenge him. I will be watching over your battle, better make me proud girl. It would be unfortunate to give those points to random people.

Murmuring the command, the world stops moving. With a deep breath I open the matching list and look at the names available.

Which one would make a good opponent... What about this one... Lightning Gadget. Must be a weakly armored yellow... All I have to do is to get in close range fast...

Satisfied with my choice, I press the duel button to challenge him.

Turning into my avatar, Alice Frost, I arrive in the stage I already got to fight in... The End of the Century...

Now, if I follow the compass, I should reach him soon. Could be a good Idea to do as he said and break a few things on my way...

Taking a run in the direction pointed by the arrow I kick a trash can on my way, gaining about 3% of my gauge to use my ability.

Gadget climbs down from the school roof to get to the front courtyard of the school. He breaks some loose rubble near the eastern wall (Let's assume the gate of the school faces south) to get KG. (KG: 5)

[Alice]

As I keep on my run to meet my opponent, I hit another trash can on my way, increasing my gauge by another 3%, before arriving at the school building on the north side, the compass pointing to the building.

Could it be that my opponent is one of those bullies? No, they wouldn't be at school at those hours... OOC note: italic pink is for my thoughts.

Entering the school grounds, I stay on my guard to not get caught by surprise by my opponent.

Gadget breaks some more rubble on the side wall to get more KG (KG: 10) however his compass points to directly behind him. He turns to see a light blue kimono wearing female avatar enter into the school. Her appearance attract Gadget and almost makes him lower his defenses but then he remembers her frost name.

"a beautiful female who's heart has been turned to ice because of a misdeed." Gadget muttered to himself. "I wonder how she'll react to me." Gadget casually walked towards Alice Frost but kept about a two meter distance between them. "So you are my opponent Miss Frost, It is a pleasure to meet you."

[Alice]

Slowly turning around the building, I finally spot my opponent. Before I even sprint to attack him, he walks toward me. His calm demeanor as he walks toward me renders me nervous.

Was challenging him a mistake? He looks way too composed to be a simple newcomer like me...

-So you are my opponent Miss Frost, It is a pleasure to meet you.

His words take me surprise. Shaking my head and taking a totally improvised stance, I answer fiercely!

-Do not take me for some weakling! I will not let your tricks get to me!

Gadget was taken aback by Alice's hostility and if he didn't know better she had just turned the temperature of the area down about 15 degrees. "Whoa, Whoa, hey no need to blast ice at me, Miss Frost, I'm cool enough already." He laugh nervously then thought to himself "okay Gadget this was a bad idea, you got to remember some people especially those injured by others take friendly chit-chat from strangers as threats and you also got to remember the goal of this game is to fight and defeat opponents that challenge you all because we're fighting over a limited resource, Burst Points."

[Alice]

This guy is most certainly underestimating me. Maybe I should wait for him to give me an ouverture or should I just kick him hard...

Still keeping my guard up I feign to move slowly toward him. His reaction should tell me how much he thinks I'm weak.

-So you're a veteran player of this game? Or are you just starting?

Gadget took a slight step backwards as Alice made a step towards him "Beginner, and I'm doing pretty poorly at playing this game. I have yet to defeat an opponent." It was true in that fact because in his battles so far he had lost horribly in one fight and barely managed to squeak out a win by having higher hp then the opponent when the time went out because he had damaged him in a trap then took off running and even then he had lost limbs and HP.

[Alice]

He took a step back which means that he still considers me a danger.

"Beginner, and I'm doing pretty poorly at playing this game. I have yet to defeat an opponent."

So he is actually not much os a veteran if he says the truth, but I can't trust his words like this...

-So you're claiming to be a beginner, then why are you engaging in conversation? Why aren't you instead trying to gain a upperhand on me? Climbing to the roof would have placed you on a better and more easily defendable spot.

Taking a more offensive posture, I wait for his answer and prepare to react!

Gadget hummed "it depends what you mean by defendable. If you mean using long range to attack, I actually started on the roof and if I had the ability to attack from a distance I would have stayed up there and most likely done some defending like that but my offense is a direct range attack requiring me to meet my opponent face to face unless I sacrifice all defense and pull out my special ability which is as best a tricky move to use in direct combat as any form of defense or countering and I'm down."

[Alice]

-Using the stairs to gain higher ground on your opponent would be one, reducing the ways your opponent have to reach you, I could say more but we are opponents. If you want to speak we can always do, but after.

As I speak, I walk around my opponent to place myself in the way would he try to reach them.

-Unless you have something else to say, let's begin.

"As you wish." Gadget replied "let me see how this plays out." He took a defensive stance

My opponent was finally ready. The action would now begin!

As my opponent takes his stance, I dash at him with a punch motion!
-Eat my ice punch!
But it was merely a feint as instead I jump toward him with my legs first!

Gadget hops to the side plants his right foot and swings the rest of the body with a gyro sound as his hand come around open palmed and he goes to counter Alice's feint/jump kick with a shove from behind to knock her off balance with her landing. Would it deal damage. He wasn't sure. His overall strength wasn't that high if she had any form of armor or she could land right she would avoid physical damage. Ego damage was another question.

[Alice]

The feint had failed, leaving me defenseless to my opponent's counter. Feeling him shoving me from behind, I stumble on my landing. My physical defenses being really low, I got damaged from the hit. My bar having fell by about a tenth of it's total. Quickly turning to my opponent I stare at him.

-This won't work twice, I promise!

I should better force him on attacking me instead. I'm not used to fighting at all.

HP reduced to 90%
KG raised from 6 to 15

Gadget hummed in interest as his KG went up by 10 points (KG: 20) "that actually did more damage then I thought. Perhaps in the future I shall consider using such counters against direct attacks but for now let's see what I can do as an attack" He slid towards her planted his left foot did a simple twist which made a gyro sound and unleashed a gadget Kick which was somewhat like a round house kick

[Alice]

As he approached, I jumped backward. Getting hit a second time wouldn't feel great.

Keeping my guard up I look at my opponent.

How could I reach him and hit without getting damaged myself? My defenses being too low, another direct hit is to avoid.

Knowing that my senpai is watching over this battle I try to calm myself down and fight with my brain, if I can't with with strength then I'll have to win by fighting smart!

Gadget's kick missed because the opponent was fast on her feet. "missed..." He muttered. He recovered his stance then noted some rubble. He needed a few more points in KG before he had access to his special attack Conduction which he could use in his terms a powerful conduction slam which would greatly damage his opponent considering she didn't have much defense but what if what she was lacking in defense meant she had some killer attack power. A special attack counter from her would most likely cause severe damage to Gadget and turn the tables causing him to lose. He had to be wary but also had to bait Alice into using her special gauge so that if she had a super powerful attack she wouldn't be able to use it.

Gadget advanced on Alice "don't get cold feet on me Miss Frost." He taunted as he threw another round house Gadget Kick but was prepared to launch it by releasing his leg from his body when the force of the kick would be released causing it to act like a rocket if she attempted to dodge it

[Alice]

This time I knew what to do, I can't go and break the field while my opponent is right besides me... but hurting him and be hurted myself would fill my gauge.

He moved toward, taunting me.

-I hope those puns...

He attacks with the same kick as before! But this time, I face it with my own as I go for a sliding kick aiming at his defenseless leg!

-Aren't intended!

The two kicks connected with their respective opponents Gadget dealing 10 damage to Frost (KG: 30). But for what it was worth, Alice Frost had a mean kick dealing 15 damage to Gadget causing his leg to be knocked out from underneath him and causing him to fall to his behind and pain and numbness surged through his left leg and behind like he had just dislocated his left femur from his hip. (HP: 85, KG: 45). His legs were now doing a robotic version of the splits. His right leg was forward out and his left leg was unnaturally backwards with his leg straight out and his foot pointed to the side. Thankfully his robot legs were designed to bend in that direction and if he really wanted to try it. He was sure they could do a 360 rotation around his hips but that was for another test at another time.

Gadget grunted in pain as his joints made grinding gyro noises to bring himself back to a standing position. "My apologizes for the pun." He muttered as he shook out his left leg. "you got a mean kick there Miss Frost."

[Alice]

It hurts, but the result was worth it. My gauge has finally a good amount to start being a real danger.

Smiling at my opponent's comment I answer.

-My kicks will be the least of your concerns! Freeze eternally!

Finishing my sentence, I raise my arm toward him!
OOC: It's just faking, not activating my ability yet.

Gadget instinctively guards himself by crossing his arms over his face. It was the one time he wished he could generate an electrical barrier to block attacks by guarding but that was at best an idea for a potential level up bonus.

[Alice]

Using my opponent's reaction to my advantage, I dash toward him, and swing my fist at his torso!

Would my fist touch, I'll activate my ability and trap his legs with my Ice!

Gadget peeked slightly then realized about a second too late that it wasn't a special she was using it was a punch aimed for his gut. He took the punch with a grunt and damage (HP: 60 KG: 60) but then he felt a chill run through his lower half as ice surrounded his lower body and he was frozen from the torso down. He couldn't move his bottom half but what Alice miscalculated was that Gadget needed his feet to attack which was not true at all. His feet weren't his best gadgets, his hands were and it was time to shock this ice girl to submission. He was thinking to do two doses of conduction but one would most likely cause Alice to submit. Before she could react Gadget grabbed Alice with a grip by the shoulders and said one word "conduction." (KG: 35)

His hands surged with electricity as he transmitted a powerful electrical current into Alice Frost.
